The page doesn't specify the actual elevation of the Cwm. That seems like pretty important information for an article like this. Anyone have the data?

The Western Cwm

edit

The Western Cwm: This is a place of greatly-varying elevation. After all, it is used for mountaineering. On the other hand, an approximate range of elevations could be given. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 47.215.188.197 (talk) 02:58, 12 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

A referral page about Mt. Everest - a good idea

edit

A referral page about Mt. Everest - a good idea. This is a work in progress, but the present one called "Mt. Everest" should contain links to Western Cwm, North Col, South Col, Edmund Hillary, Tenzing Norgay, George Leigh-Mallory, and so forth. I don't know quite how to do it yet, but many I should study it!47.215.188.197 (talk) 03:03, 12 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Image caption misleading?

edit

The caption of the image currently on this page says "Western Cwm with the Lhotse face . . . ."

On the image details page, it says that the image shows the cwm with Lhotse itself in the background.

Perhaps the caption is meant to mean simply "the face of Lhotse." However, as I understand it from what I have read, the "Lhotse face" is actually part of Everest between Everest and Lhotse. Thus the caption implies we are looking at across the cwm at Everest , instead of looking across the cwm in the other direction at Lhotse.

I am going to change the caption to just say "Lhotse" instead of "Lhotse face", but leaving this note here as a record.
