Legal Issues Exist Around the Conversions - More To Explore Here
editI think the West Village Houses is an interesting story about what happened with a big idea -- Jacobs thought low rise was good, it was more expensive to build than everyone thought, they might be ugly, in the end the tenants got to own very expensive real estate. There's even more to the story. Questions about whether those who did not buy got rent control (https://law.justia.com/cases/new-york/appellate-division-first-department/2019/9919-118482-06.html) and problems in the selection of the board (https://westviewnews.org/2022/01/08/west-village-housing-settles-election-lawsuit/gcapsis/). This in case others want to continue to describe the story. HighAtop94 (talk) 15:01, 15 April 2023 (UTC)
