POV?
editIn the Movie paragraph: "the background of its maker Jan Philipp Reemtsma, heir of the Reemtsma tobacco company which had held a reported 60% market share in Nazi Germany." What does the market share have to do with Reemtsma's work as a social scientist or the Wehrmachtsausstellung? It's just a cheap kick in the side. This should be deleted or removed to an article about Reemtsma. --89.49.39.149 (talk) 12:25, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
Redirect or article here
editjust combine the two articles, so no info is lost. i have to say this has more info than the other article. -Koppapa (talk) 13:25, 3 October 2011 (UTC)
- Of which a great deal is uncited and coatrack. This ought be a redirect to the english language name at any rate, a merge of any usable content from here would be best. The Last Angry Man (talk) 13:28, 3 October 2011 (UTC)
- I have removed the united and coatrack content, I see not a great deal left to be salvaged, thoughts? The Last Angry Man (talk) 13:35, 3 October 2011 (UTC)
I have proposed a merger to the English named article as this is the English wiki. The Last Angry Man (talk) 14:29, 3 October 2011 (UTC)
- Merger is fine, of course, but for technical reasons the merger must be into this one, because it's the older article. That's no judgment either of the merits of the two articles' contents, nor of their titles. Just go ahead and import whatever you feel was handled better in your new version. The title can be treated separately afterwards; if necessary this article can be moved over the position of the new one, but this would have to be done through a proper move, by an admin, not by copying and pasting content over. - I agree with that the merge should be into the first article (this one); and yes, although not perfect, this article did contain far more information, including details of what happened to the photographic exhibition in the last ten years. Isolated sentences from google books are not quite enough. Mathsci (talk) 15:11, 3 October 2011 (UTC)
Lets see if I understand correctly, English name needs merging here, then a move request needs be done to use English title? Not a problem, I shall merge and fix this article then it can be moved to the English title. The Last Angry Man (talk) 16:25, 3 October 2011 (UTC)
- There's no point in using the English title as Wehrmachtsausstellung is the term used in academic texts (e.g. Mary Nolan's article in "Memory and the impact of political transformation in public space") and covers the three periods of the collection (Hamburg, Berlin and finally the archives of the German Historical Museum in Berlin). The title you chose did not apply to the exhibition in Berlin 2000-2004 or the archive. This is really a quite minor point as the redirects and explanations in the article can cover that. The word "Annihilation" should probably be replaced by "Extermination" in the current article. Mathsci (talk) 17:29, 3 October 2011 (UTC)
- There's also a long article about the exhibition by Chloe Paver with Wehrmachtsausstellung in the title in "German memory contests: the quest for identity in literature, film, and discourse since 1990", Camden House, 2006. Mathsci (talk) 17:44, 3 October 2011 (UTC)
- I had not realized that, fair enough the other ought stay as a redirect. The Last Angry Man (talk) 18:23, 3 October 2011 (UTC)

WP:COMMONNAME and WP:USEENGLISH
editGoogle Ngrams reports that in English sources, the English name is more common than German one, and it's not consistently capitalized.[1] Therefore, I'm moving it to "Wehrmacht exhibition". There's no doubt that this is the primary topic of "Wehrmacht exhibition", as it is frequently discussed without further clarification in RS. (t · c) buidhe 22:00, 5 December 2020 (UTC)
