editThis line doesnt make much sense to me: "The population of Wantagh was 18,971, with a combined North and South population of 31,127 at the time of the 2000 census ." Maybe it would make more sense if it said "The population of North Wantagh was 18,971" or "The population of South Wantagh was 18,971".
I only did this because people argue about what is considered Wantagh. There is already a north wantagh wikipedia page although people say wantagh is both north and south combined while other people say wantagh is only south of jerusalem and north wantagh is separate. So i had to compromise. Sullynyflhi 21:38, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
Wantagh and North Wantagh are two separate entities, both hamlets/census-designated places in the Town of Hempstead - so the population should not be combined. Since the above comments were made both pages have been edited to reflect this correctly, there is some confusion because of non-conforming postal zones but I also edited both pages to make note of this...hope it clears up some confusion. Here is the 2010 Census data for both North Wantagh and "South" Wantagh: http://www.wantagh.li/statistics/2010_wantagh_demographic_profile.pdf. 108.6.130.113 (talk) 21:36, 3 January 2015 (UTC)
