skillsXchange location
editThe new skillsXchange campus is not on the Whitwood campus site as stated. It's in a completely different location. It's on part of the old Glasshoughton pit site, next to the new Asda (which is next to the old Asda site, now a car park). This is near the Junction 32 (formerly Freeport) retail park.
There are houses on part of the Whitwood site, while the rest is not yet used. All the Whitwood buildings have been demolished.
I'll see if I can find some references when I can. Dannman (talk) 10:35, 25 August 2011 (UTC)
- You're right - I remember when writing this section I originally wrote that it replaced Whitwood but wasn't built upon the site. I ran a check and saw that an edit was made on the 5th June 2010 by 195.224.106.220 and went unchecked until your above post! I've reverted it back to the original text; reading that the new Glasshoughton site replaced the former Whitwood campus. Did you have any luck with the references, Dannman? - There's these Wakefield College pages that give the address of the SkillsXchange: skillsxchange page with phographc, Main site, Xchange and Thornes park address. The address for Whitwood College is harder to find. There's these about the house develoment on the site. The first one is Barratt's and says that it is 'situated on the old Whitwood College site'. PrimeLocation says Development Address : LEEDS BARNSDALE ROAD, WHITWOOD, CASTLEFORD (don't know if that's a help!) and has a map. The house marking the devlopment is at one end of the old site. I'd prefer something that showed where the whole site was (it ran up to the junction (roundabout) at the top left of the map).
- These are the best I've found so far. If you think these are OK, I'll come back and add them as references later. Dannman (talk) 16:07, 30 August 2011 (UTC)
- Should have done a bit more seraching before posting. Just found this site. No address. However, it's got an Ordnance Survey, with the college market and showing the buildings. There's also a good photographon this page.Dannman (talk) 16:18, 30 August 2011 (UTC)
Establishment having a gender
editThe Info box has gender listed. Is it possible for an establishment to have a gender. I'm inclinded to think someone added this to make a point about Non Binary.
Also, Religion: Buddhism needs looking at.
I'm just too tired lately.
