Banis and Don Holliday the same person?

While Banis is most known for his fictional works----many of which are very rare and difficult to find if you can find them at all from the early days (the reason being is that most libraries in those days considered them not worth putting before thier hoity toidy noses because gay subject matter was taboo).

If Don Holliday, Lady Agatha and Banis are one and the same; there should be a non-fiction category added to this list of Banis's works as a food writer. The C.A.M.P. Cookbook, of which only two known copies survive (one in private collection and the other at the San Francisco Public Library) is a tongue in cheek humorous puning cookbook for beginners (straight and particularly gays) who can not yet boil water. Despite the apparent audience that is this book is intended for---it does get into some rather fancy cooking a la Julia Child---who was just coming onto the cookshow scene when this book was published in 1969 by the Phenix Publishers Ltd in San Diego (no longer in business?? at least this writer was not able to find them.). It would be nice if this book were re-issued---this time out of the closet. Before it was usually only sold by adult bookstores. You will find such recipe puns as Aunt Lily's Creamed Onions and yes there is a real recipe for them.

Aliases and Nonfiction

Yes, Don Holliday is an alias of Victor J. Banis. In fact Don Holliday redirects to the Victor J. Banis page here on wikipedia. I just assumed that with the bibliography it would be very obvious, but a list of Victor's aliases would probably be useful. Check out The Man From C.A.M.P. for more details on Victor's aliases regarding that series (including the cookbook.) The cookbook is mentioned there as well because it is more about the C.A.M.P. series than Victor himself. There was also a book called The Gay Cookbook that came out during approximately the same time frame - it has nothing to do with Victor or C.A.M.P. but it is a lot of fun.
