Conflicting date of death
editSources vary on Lombardi's date of death. Baseball-reference.com and retrosheet.org indicate December 3; mlb.com and thebaseballcube.com indicate December 7. December 3 is used in the article. Although Find-A-Grave does not fall under RS, there is a picture of his gravestone with December 3 clearly indicated as his date of death. Bob305 (talk) 02:05, 16 August 2019 (UTC)
- Career statistics from MLB, or Baseball Reference, or Baseball Reference (Minors), or Retrosheet
- The NY Times article[1] of Dec 7 says he died on Wednesday. If you backtrack the date from the article, Wednesday is Dec 3. I make a bet baseballcube got the birthday from the date of the Times article....William, is the complaint department really on the roof? 10:22, 16 August 2019 (UTC)
- Also note the material I deleted was a copyright violation. It was a complete cut and paste of the SABR article[2] on Lombardi....William, is the complaint department really on the roof? 10:35, 16 August 2019 (UTC)
- Many thanks on both items! Bob305 (talk) 15:15, 16 August 2019 (UTC)
