Merge
editI'm not sure the proposed merge is a good idea. VCSELs and VECSELs are not the same thing.--Srleffler (talk) 12:04, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
These are completely different devices. It would be like merging tricycles and bicycles. They are fundamentally different in nature and are used different. VECSELs have much higher output power with good beam quality, VCSELs do not. Their size, shape, components, pumping, and virtually every other characteristic is different. -Jake Smith —Preceding unsigned comment added by 150.135.210.24 (talk) 00:59, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
- Done. The proposal to merge is closed. Thanks for your input.--Srleffler (talk) 01:38, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
"See also..."
editUnder "See also" I think the term and link to "Light Peak" is obsolete, as there I found nothing that relates to this VCSEL article! (Okay, they wanted LightPeak to be optical, but they decided to make it electrical... that word "optical" is all that could be associated with this VCSEL article... IMHO not enough!) 217.109.123.82 (talk) 13:07, 18 September 2014 (UTC)
Changes
editAfter reading I would like to suggest some changes ...
- in the image show in which direction the beam is emitted ... the related wording might confuse some people
- put the current use of the device first and manufacturing and historical details after
- in that respect the very first sentences might focus more on the practical value of the design in relation to alternatives
(of course that's just my personal opinion) JB. --92.195.43.179 (talk) 19:27, 12 February 2017 (UTC)
