Misinterpretation of the Greek spelling
I would like to point out that the reconstucted Ancient Greek (classical and postclassical) pronunciation accepted by most scholars of οὐάτεις (like all cases with ου + vowel) is [oː-]/[oːw-] or [uː-]/[uːw-] and not the simple glide [w] without the full vowel [oː] or [uː] before. - It isn't a Greek word, though, it's a Gaulish word written in the Greek alphabet and was certainly pronounced with /w/, probably /wa:tis/. Angr (talk) 12:38, 27 April 2013 (UTC)
