Length of Service

edit

Having been commissioned in January 1859 and decommissioned in May 1889, it seems to me the final phrase of the third paragraph "nearly half a century" would be more accurate if it were changed to "over three decades," and give a better feel for the ship's service life if an actual length of time is not to be used.Jmac1962 (talk) 14:31, 9 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Good point. Change made...Wikited (talk) 19:20, 25 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

It is my understanding that Brooklyn was a sloop-of-war and not a ship-of-the-line. However, it is listed in the catagory of United States Ships-of-the-line. Shouldn't that be removed?

I've removed references to the Brooklyn being a ship-of-the-line; with only 21 guns she's clearly too small to be classified as such. Arabani (TalkContribs) 03:28, 18 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Battle of Mobile Bay

edit

This duplicates the account in the main article Battle of Mobile Bay and should be removed and replaced by a link. Bob (talk) 20:43, 10 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
