Dating launch etc
editI have a reference to the St Mihiel at Honolulu in a US Department of Transport manifest of aliens employed (possibly including my grandfather) hence this comment! [1] (requires Ancestry login) The manifest date is 1 April 1919 which suggests the launch date may be earlier than reported here. Interestingly a large proportion of the crew are listed as British, perhaps from Canada. Has anyone specific data on the dates of the B class vessels that might clarify? Possibly I've answered my own question. There was another St Mihiel built by Thor Iron works of Toronto and operated by the Maple Leaf Shipping Company, which seems a more likely candidate. [2] The ship was funded in 1919 by a loan of USD $650,000 from the federal reserve bank of St Louis.[3] — Preceding unsigned comment added by Southforelandlighthouse (talk • contribs) 09:53, 23 October 2013 (UTC)
