Wow--I am surprised to see no mention of the impact of the strike on production, the public, and the US economy. The strike caused widespread power cuts in states that were dependent on coal to generate electricity. Street lights were turned off at night. I was a Purdue student at the time, and Purdue extended spring break to three weeks to save power. However, the strike was settled during spring break and the students "lost" the extra two weeks.
Someone should really write about this aspect of the strike. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.178.173.118 (talk) 01:43, 26 March 2011 (UTC)
