This reads less like an informative article than a pamphlet touting the school. Something a little drier is in order.

You're right, it's a bit overblown and not terribly encyclopedic in places. Feel free to be bold, but not reckless and make changes you think will improve the article! · Katefan0(scribble) 18:24, August 18, 2005 (UTC)

Most of the text appears to have been plagiarized from http://www.edwards.af.mil/library/factsheets/factsheet.asp?id=6586.

This needs a good overhaul its very close to being cut and paste from http://www.edwards.af.mil/library/factsheets/factsheet.asp?id=6586

I'm working on an overhaul, but its still in the sandbox stage: User:Skeet_Shooter/Sandbox/TPS Skeet Shooter (talk) 13:25, 25 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Shooter, your sandbox is already WAY better than what's here. Why don't you go ahead and publish? ComputerGeezer (talk) 02:42, 17 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the compliments, Geezer. I'm still missing a lot of info then got sidetracked breaking off a list of notable grads into a separate article. I did publish that at List of USAF Test Pilot School alumni but would like to take a little more time to fix the major gaps in my sandbox TPS article. I'll try to get it done soon, but until my big Lotto win comes in, time is hard to come by! Skeet Shooter (talk) 03:30, 17 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Update of July 25, 2009

edit

I noticed this article was updated today by another user who appears to have taken the content from my sandbox. I realize that anything on Wiki is under GFDL, but I think it would have been polite to a) ask my permission before copying my sandbox content; and b) mention where the content came from. I was still working on this update in my sandbox and planned to post it once I felt it was ready. Skeet Shooter (talk) 23:41, 25 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Notable Commanders

edit

I removed Al Boyd and Gus Grissom from the notable commanders section of the info box. Al Boyd commanded the Air Force Flight Test Center (AFFTC) of which TPS is only a part. Gus Grissom was a graduate of the school but did not command TPS. See Commandants of the USAF Test Pilot School for a complete list of TPS commanders.
