Talk:Tyson Beckford
Photo
editAny chance of getting a photo on here? http://tyson-beckford.iwarp.com/ features photos whose copyright seems to be owned by the page designer (claim at bottom), so maybe we could use one of those? I dont know how the Wiki copyright policy works, so thought I should get some other opinions! Rusty2005 14:51, 26 May 2005 (UTC)
- A screencap from a movie or TV show would probalby be safest...or maybe a magazine cover. --FuriousFreddy 16:02, 26 May 2005 (UTC)
Gang story
editIs the gangster story in the article true? Janet 22:58, 2 March 2006 (UTC)
- Apparently yes, he was a gang member when he was young (although I dont think he classified as a "gangster"! He gave it up when he was recruited to The Source. Rusty2005 23:32, 27 April 2006 (UTC)
I've removed the following sentence per WP:BLP: "it has been reported that early in his life, Beckford was a gang member and was involved in the sale and distribution of illegal narcotics." If this is true, it can only be included with a reliable source. ShadowHalo 05:26, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
Changes to facts
editI'm not sure why Rusty choose to change that Tyson graduated from Pittsford Mendon High School. He did and I was literally there when he did. As for the gangster story? I don't know. I've never heard of that, but then again, you guys had him "from" the Bronx during a time when I was at school with the man in Rochester, NY. Not sure what's going on. —Sorry, this is my message, User:Korle in case someone wants to contact me. (2 August 2006)
- I haven't changed anything regarding his school Rusty2005 20:03, 2 August 2006 (UTC)

Ethnic background?
editTo state that someone is Jamaican, when you really mean 'black' is ignorant. Jamaicans come in all shades and colours. There is more than one race of people living on the island. The information for Tyson's parents should really state that his father is 1/2 black, 1/2 chinese and his mother is black ".208.138.38.52 19:59, 14 April 2007 (UTC)
- I agree with what the first poster said about his heritage. I'm Jamaican also and Jamaica is comprised of many different nationalities. His father isn't half Jamaican and Half Chinese, he's full Jamaican, just half chinese-jamaican and half black-jamaican. Jamaican and black are not synonymous. Jamaican's not an ethnicity, it's a nationality and black's not a nationality so u can't mix the two. I hope that made sense. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Marxtheory (talk • contribs) 23:21, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
- Being yet another Jamaican, I echo the statements of the other two Jamaicans who commented on the confusion of nationality and ethnicity. Note, that I have made an effort to clarify this article as it was indeed inaccurate. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Baozi1 (talk • contribs) 22:34, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
Imdb says his father is half Chinese-Jamaican/half black-Jamaican, while his mother is of Panamanian ancestry. That's the opposite of what this says. Which is right, and what's the source? Aroundthewayboy (talk) 05:29, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

Tyson Beckford's appearance in music videos
editTyson Beckford did not feature in Lady Gaga's and Beyonce's music video telephone, it was actually Tyrese Gibson. It seems you have confused the two. 94.197.123.208 (talk)N.H94.197.123.208 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 16:50, 21 April 2010 (UTC).
