Succeded by...
editI don't think you can really say, the type 206 is succeded by the 209.
The Type 206(a) is succeded by the Type 212 in service of the Bundesmarine and by the Type 207 (Kobben) in designation, at HDW by the GAL in design and only in production (at HDW) by the type 209(/1200). Alureiter 21:45, 9 October 2005 (UTC)
- There must be another way to put it, what I really want to do is somehow represent the family tree, from very first German submarine built in 1851 until todays Type 214. Perhaps you might know of a better way of putting it? --Jcw69 06:53, 10 October 2005 (UTC) For example...
Type 201 | > Type 205 | > Type 206 | > Type 206A | > Type 800
> GAL | |||||||
> Type 207 | |||||||
> Type 209-1100 | > Type 209-1200 | > Type 209-1300 | > Type 209-1400 | > Type 209-1400M | > Type 209-1500
> Dolphin | |||||||
> Type 212A | > Type 214 |
- Is this a textual representation of the graphic you can find on the HDW webpage, since the submarines build by Thyssen-Nordseewerke alone are left out (TR-1700 (Type 208?) and Ula (Type 210)? [1]
- Maybe we should just adopt the way aircraft articles are linked together, i.e. list some "related developement" submarines and the leading and trailing classes in the designation series, see e.g. the bottom of Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-17 Alureiter 13:12, 11 October 2005 (UTC)
Because it refers to a different class of submarines I removed the following and added it to this page http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Type_212_submarine#Design: The low emission profile allowed the submarines in exercises to intrude even into well protected opposing forces such as carrier formations with their screen.[1] — Preceding unsigned comment added by Deathmare (talk • contribs) 16:32, 25 August 2011 (UTC)
- You are right concerning the article, but the photo was taken by U 24. So, the information is correct for both classes, but the one source is only good for U 212A. I will adjust the article. --KuK (talk) 14:54, 27 August 2011 (UTC)
Title
editI think the tittle should be uniform. The title of this article should be U-206 class submarine such as Kilo class submarine, Collins class submarine or Scorpene class submarine. Thank you for your consideration.Gsarwa (talk) 06:46, 23 December 2011 (UTC)
