Megan Washington
editThe band Washington is from Australia but Megan Washington was born in PNG. According to her page she moved to Oz at age 11 in 1997.
Do we count her as Aus or PNG?
- She considers herself an Australian musician. Additionally, her entry in last year's 100 lists her as Australian.tyler_j (talk) 02:45, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
- Seems fair enough to me. Might remove the note. Nic the Man (talk) 02:49, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
- Wasn't there a really big argument about Regina Spektor last year for the very same reason(But with Russia instead of PNG)?Churba (talk) 05:50, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
Protection
editOkay, as you can see from the original submission, protection will not be granted until the vandalism becomes unmanageable (which will happen, that seems inevitable). So, for now, do the usual: assume good faith and revert vandalism on sight. --JB Adder | Talk 03:08, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
Time to get the page protected asap 67.183.16.32 (talk) 04:25, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
I think it now counts as unmanageable. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.148.234.246 (talk) 04:29, 26 January 2011 (UTC)

Switch the song and artist for Angus and Julia Stone and put the Australian flag in the country section.

A number of the artist down the list are unlinked, and should be.
H4rrison.james (talk) 05:34, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
- Only the first instance of the artist needs to be linked. skyhawker666 (talk) 05:52, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
- Actually, when theyre in a table, all of them should be linked, as per Wikipedia:Manual of Style H4rrison.james (talk) 06:19, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
- Where does it say this? Please provide verification. --JB Adder | Talk 08:42, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
- Repeating links in tables. Anneagain (talk) 09:19, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
- What shall we take this as, though: a table in its own, or a list in a table? If the latter, then first occurrence only. --JB Adder | Talk 09:38, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
- Personally, I like the repeated links in this case, because the table/list is fairly long, and there aren't more than two or three repeats for any of the groups anyway. Thinking in terms of convenience for other users, I wouldn't want to scroll through the whole table to find the linked version of the artist. I think in this case it's not violating the spirit of the repeated link policy, whatever the technicalities of it may be - it doesn't seem over-linked by any means, and it's not a distraction or nuisance. In my opinion, link each occurrence. Anneagain (talk) 09:47, 26 January 2011 (UTC)

Australian Entries Count
editThe count of Australian entries seems to be 1 behind the actual total. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.167.15.162 (talk) 06:01, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
- this is still true btw H4rrison.james (talk) 06:32, 26 January 2011 (UTC)

Two Door Cinema Club
editI think the Northern Ireland flag would be accurate than the UK one. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.110.17.222 (talk) 06:55, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
Actually, the Northern Irish flag is the one already on it - there is no longer a unique Northern Irish flag, as the Northern Irish parliament was dissolved in 1973. They used to use the Ulster Banner, but that is no longer the flag - the flag is the Union Flag, which is the Flag of the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland. Mislabeled country
editCan I apologise to everyone editing the article: I'm (accidentally) screwing up the countries with some artists, so verify the artist's country of origin first before updating the count. --JB Adder | Talk 08:14, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
- It's alright, you're hard at it, no need to apologize - it's not like you're not just leaving it, you're fixing your mistakes, so it's all sweet. Churba (talk) 08:17, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah it's looking really good so far well done, I hope for more Bliss'N'Eso! skyhawker666 (talk) 08:31, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
See you next year!
editI wonder who Kuzronk is and how the song was put in (although badly) early? skyhawker666 (talk) 09:55, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
Could one of the reliable editors here take a look at the edit requests above?
editI see that there was a loose-knit team of editors who got this year's page up and organized, in real-time nonetheless. Could those of you who are familiar with the top, list, and article please look at the three edit requests that are a few sections above this one? I don't have any knowledge about this subject, so, though I often respond to edit requests across the site, I'm hesitant to tackle this one. Plus, I figure y'all know whether the requests are correct or not. After you check each one and figure out if the change needs to be made, all you need to do is change the part that says {{edit semi-protected}} to say {{Tld|edit semi-protected}}. If needed, leave a comment as well about why you did or didn't fulfill the request. That way, by "untranscluding" the requests (adding "Tld") this article will be removed from the Category that lists all pages needing such requests. Thanks a bunch. Copyright
editI'm afraid we need permission to use the complete list here. The article has been blanked pending that. Hopefully, ABC network will be willing to give permission, as they have in the past. See discussion. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 13:29, 3 July 2011 (UTC)
Wikipedia needs to get permission each and every year? 007bond aka Matthew G aka codingmasters 13:26, 17 July 2011 (UTC)
- Yes, we do, unless they give us an open permission. Unfortunately, the permission they gave us earlier was specific to the list of articles that were then up for deletion. Even more unfortunately, they have not granted us license this time. :/ (It could still happen, though.)
- Without that permission, the article needs to be managed in accordance with WP:NFC guideline. We can talk about the list and mention a few specific items from it, but we can't reproduce the list. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 14:24, 31 July 2011 (UTC)
Someone editing in unsourced songs?
editI don't know who it is, but someone is editing in a large proportion of songs from a non-existent list. While a lot of the songs mentioned are from 2010, this is in no way resembling the list from the Triple J countdown. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 27.33.125.37 (talk) 16:14, 19 November 2011 (UTC)
Full List?
editI can't see why the full list isn't shown on wiki? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 114.77.196.32 (talk) 07:26, 26 January 2012 (UTC)
Someone removed the list some time ago out of concern that placing it up here would break copyright. There have been that many debates raging on about it, twice leading to deletion requests (both of which were hotly debated too, with opinions from both sides). You're free to return the list to the wiki; you'll have to do it manually, though, as the relevant edits have been scratched for reasons I still do not understand. --JB Adder | Talk 02:42, 7 February 2012 (UTC)Scratch my previous statement. If you look at the wikicode, you will see an office notice. That, at the moment, stops anyone from replacing the list (the equivalent of an office action). I still raise my own questions as to why this has been done, especially given that the lists for previous years had survived for nearly a decade at most prior to any concern of possible copyright being raised. You could try and replace the lists, however, given this is a retraction of previous comments, I do not hold any responsibility for any consequences that result from your actions. --JB Adder | Talk 03:05, 7 February 2012 (UTC)
