Sources

edit

Why are we using 100 year old (and older) sources to make definitive present day statements here? It is wrong. I am currently cutting back a lot of the excess and, to be honest, there is probably about another 70% of the current content that could easily go. We have links for a reason and there is no need to repeat detailed information that is contained in articles about each specific community. Indeed, from what I can work out so far, much of the content of this article began as unattributed copy/pastes from those other articles - this is a breach of Wikipedia's licensing terms and I would probably be within my rights to pull the entire thing and start again. - Sitush (talk) 19:15, 2 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Correct Information

edit

Just because the sources are old, that does not mean they are incorrect. The last census Pakistan held was in 1981, that still used as a basis by most international organizations. If you can provide current up to date information that contradicts any of the information in the article, then by all means, that should be removed. But the tribal distribution has remained fairly constant in this region, as opposed to central Punjab, where there was massive population transfers. However, I will look in cutting back the more detailed information to streamline this article.
