Hi! Happy to review. Sainsf <^>Feel at home 17:57, 24 April 2016 (UTC)
A nice article on the whole, but the prose needs a lot of editing as I explain below: Sainsf <^>Feel at home 06:07, 25 April 2016 (UTC)
- Lead:
- It is not necessary to include citations in the lead, unless the claims look controversial. I think you can exclude them unless the claims are really big (say, it is the capital city, or the population figures).
- and the City of Trenton was formed within Trenton Township...by the City of Trenton on April 10, 1837. "Trenton Township" is repeated a bit too often, could do with some pronouns.
- At the moment, the lead seems to be focusing just on the political, demographic and historical features of the city. The lead should focus on all important aspects of the city – begin with the general introduction, history and geography. And then take up the rest of the points. Looking at the article size, the lead should have at least three good paragraphs.
- "Census Bureau" is linked twice.
- General
- Say either 20XX–YY or 20XX–20YY throughout the article.
- History:
- You have not mentioned all those facts about the history in this section. Note that the lead is just a summary of what all there is in the main article, you should add all this material to this section and keep only a few points in the lead.
- Source for the first para and the line The city was considered as a permanent capital...Mason–Dixon line ?
- Done Details re choice of capitol were expanded and sourced. See here.
- Please combine a few paras after the merger suggested above. The text looks choppy.
- Geography:
- According to the United States Census Bureau Year?
- the city had a total area of 8.155 square miles Should be "has" unless the city boundaries have changed since the estimate was published.
- Mention the land area and the neighbors of the city in the first few lines of the lead.
- Several bridges across the Delaware River This para should come later in the section. Before this we should have the parts Trenton is located near the exact geographic center of the state... ; Trenton is one of two state capitals; and Trenton borders Ewing Township...
- Sources for So it is sometimes included as...city of the Delaware Valley and Locals consider Trenton to be a part...New York region's high housing costs ?
- 5 miles (8.0 km) located southeast of Trenton Omit "located".
- while others consider it "others" appears vague.
- Philadelphia television market ; Nielsen television markets What does it mean?
- New Haven, Connecticut, area Is the comma needed?
- Trenton is one of two state capitals In USA? Please add it to make it clearer.
- Morrisville is linked twice.
- Choppy again, we will need to combine paras.
- Neighborhoods:
- What exactly does a "neighborhood" mean here? Any link or explanation?
- This section is largely unsourced. Will not add my comments on this till this issue is resolved.
- Climate:
- However, temperatures reaching 0 °F (−18 °C) or 100 °F (38 °C) are uncommon. Source?
- The 28.79 in (731 mm) of precipitation recorded in 1957 were the lowest ever for the city Can be rephrased as "The lowest precipitation, 28.79 in (731 mm), was recorded in 1957."
- Last para is unsourced.
- Demographics:
- At the 2010 United States Census, there were 84,913 people, 28,578 households, and 17,747 families residing in the city. Looks a bit awkward, can read "According to the 2010 United States Census, Trenton had a population of 84,913, 28,578 households, and 17,747 families."
- The details of the past survey are not needed, just the latest details are to be included. At least I have not seen this in any other such article. I am not commenting on this subsection at the moment.
- Do we have more recent data available?
- Economy:
- Duplink: Trenton–Morrisville Toll Bridge
- Any idea on what exactly the economy is based on?
- Arts and culture:
- Who is Jonathan Doane?
- Sports:
- located in adjacent Hamilton Township in "the"?
- "asphalt" may be linked.
- The table would look better if placed at the bottom of the section, not at the top.
- Parks and recreation:
- Can this section be expanded?
- Local government:
- retroactively assumed the office "the" looks redundant
- February 7 and the 26th "th" in dates is not recommended, and does not work unless you say "7th" as well.
- could have be reversed by Muschal Error?
- Federal, state and county representation:
- There are a lot of duplinks from here on. You can use this tool to remove them yourself.
- Public transportation:
- Please combine paras, the section appears choppy.
- Source(s) for 1st, 3rd, 5th paras and the line Two additional River Line stops, Cass Street and Hamilton Avenue, are located within the city?
- Politics:
- Democrat Jon Corzine received 81.6% of the vote here is "here" needed?
- Fire department:
- Source(s) for the table?
- Colleges and universities:
- Can some images be added?
- Thomas Edison State University serving adult students around the nation and worldwide Would read better as "that serves adult students".
- Rider moved to its current location in nearby Lawrence Township Who or what is "Rider" and "it"?
- Public schools:
- The 2nd para is difficult to read, can we convert thee data into a table?
- In one para you say twelfth, and in another 12th.
- Private schools:
- Source for last para?
- Crime:
- 14th most dangerous "city" overall out of 371 cities Why is city in double quotes?
- Done Scare quotes were eliminated. Additional details re murder rates was added, with sources. See here
- Source for Trenton's Battle Monument...revitalizing certain sections?
- Roads and highways:
- The 2nd and 3rd paras look unsourced.
- Media:
- Source(s) for 2nd para?
- Points of interest:
- Sources(s)?
- Could be merged into Parks and recreation.
- Done The bakery was shifted to Economy and the cemetery to historic sites within Parks and Recreation. Other sites were added, all of which had references added. see here 5/13/2016
- Notable people:
- Sources for the entries Nona Hendryx, New Atlantic and Carl Anthony Payne II?
- Done Source added for Hendryx. Removed New Atlantic and Payne as no sources could be found in a Google search to establish a Trenton connection with a satisfactory reliable and verifiable source. see here 5/13/2016
@Alansohn: That should be it. Thank you for your efforts on this. I will wait for 7 days for response; please keep the review page updated on the changes made. The above issues addressed, I would be happy to promote the article. If there is no response for 7 days, I shall have to fail this. Good luck! Sainsf <^>Feel at home 03:39, 30 April 2016 (UTC)
- @Alansohn: Already a week since any activity here. If you feel you can not deal with these points soon, then we can have this failed for now and renominate it after improvements. Sainsf (talk · contribs) 14:59, 13 May 2016 (UTC)
- Sainsf, given the scope and number of suggested changes, I'm working on a group of edits that will be made shortly. Thanks for checking in. Alansohn (talk) 15:10, 13 May 2016 (UTC)

@Alansohn: A week since your last response. Sainsf (talk · contribs) 11:17, 24 May 2016 (UTC)
@Alansohn: I am sorry to say this but reviews should not go on for weeks without activity. I know you are willing to work on these issues, but they seem too many for now and you seem busy elsewhere. If you do not respond within three days from now I will be forced to fail this. Sainsf (talk · contribs) 11:13, 1 June 2016 (UTC)
I am going to fail this. I hope this is soon renominated after the issues have been fixed. Sainsf (talk · contribs) 07:14, 4 June 2016 (UTC)
