Talk:Trachycarpus fortunei

Can someone convert the celsius temperatures in the article into fahrenheit. I know a large portion of the world uses celsius but since this is the American version of Wikipedia, it should be put into fahrenheit; or fahrenheit -and- celsius should both be shown at the very least. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.192.176.30 (talk) 03:24, 29 December 2007 (UTC)

This is not the "American version" of Wikipedia, it is the English language version and as such is contributed to, and used, by people from the U.K., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and numerous other countries in addition to the USA. Measurements in metric units are standard throughout Wikipedia, although measurements in inches, feet, pounds, miles, etc. can be included parenthetically. Cultivation

It is commonly grown in gardens in (...) Germany, (...) Denmark,... cant be right and should be replace by very occasionally, since the specimens which are dead after a normal German Winter outnumbers those rare which are surviving in very protected locations and with a lot of care.--Zarbi1 (talk) 16:07, 21 January 2013 (UTC)

It surely depends on location, there's a few in my village (near the Upper Rhine), and all survived the killer winter of Feb 2012 (14 consecutive days of sub-zero temperatures, peaking at -16°C, so definitely not a "normal winter"), also I saw a couple really tall specimens in Frankfurt which must be over 25 years old so they must have survived the extreme 1996/97 cold wave too — Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.89.187.236 (talk) 01:08, 6 September 2015 (UTC)
