- Excuse me please, I'm from the German Wikipedia and just read this stub. I'm quite sure, that it's just the other way round. In present day PR of China the 镇 zhèn (what you call "town") is far more urban than the rural 乡 xiāng (called "township" in the English Wikipedia). Both are political (administrative) divisions of the same level. So in German language and Wikipedia, too the translation for 乡 xiāng is "Gemeinde" and for 镇 zhèn is "Großgemeinde". --62.225.117.54 14:24, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
Classification of Towns
editUpdated the official classification of Towns in China (in a three-tier administrative system) and added a mentioning of Chinese town tourism. Also made some in-text references. But the information in this article still seems a little out-of date.
