Not moved. There is no agreement on an acceptable target, and the incidence of both subjects arguably being English speedway riders leaves no clearly distinguishing characteristic other than year of birth. bd2412 T 03:11, 18 October 2017 (UTC)
Tommy Price (born 1907) → Tommy Price (English speedway rider) – Even if Tommy Price, the Australian speedway rider (born in 1911), is considered more notable, the English rider (born in 1907) should also have his national identity indicated in the manner standard for other professions, such as "(English actor)" An alternative qualifier to consider might be Tommy Price (speedway rider, born 1907). —Roman Spinner (talk)(contribs) 14:32, 29 September 2017 (UTC)--Relisting. - Move to Tommy Price (British speedway rider) - the nom's point is a good one, and the birth year is a very poor indicator for two individuals born four years apart, more than a century ago. But I would phrase it as British rather than English, to match Category:British speedway riders. — Amakuru (talk) 10:27, 6 October 2017 (UTC)
- Comment. As the nominator, I would have no problem with "(British speedway rider)", especially since Wikipedia does not have [as of this writing], Category:Scottish speedway riders or Category:Welsh speedway riders. —Roman Spinner (talk)(contribs) 03:33, 7 October 2017 (UTC)
- I might be missing something, but wasn't the 1911 Tommy Price also an English speedway rider? According to his article, he didn't move to Australia until after retirement. Station1 (talk) 04:56, 7 October 2017 (UTC)
- Thank you for the observation. The lead sentence describes the 1911 Tommy Price as "an international Speedway rider" without specifying his nationality (other than indicating "born 2 December 1911 in Cambridge, England and died 26 December 1997 in Perth, Australia") which, although a common form in other Wikipedias, is discouraged in English Wikipedia's lead sentence which is only supposed to focus on subject's key points of notability, while leaving places of birth and death to be indicated in the body of the article. Taking this revised outlook into account, the other possible qualifier mentioned in the nomination, Tommy Price (speedway rider, born 1907), returns for consideration, but any and all other suggestions are welcome. —Roman Spinner (talk)(contribs) 05:52, 7 October 2017 (UTC)
- They were both English speedway riders. The 'international speedway rider' thing is something that a certain editor keeps including in articles to describe riders who raced in more than once country. It shouldn't be in the lede, and I have copyedited the article to fix this. Since they were both English, and both British, none of the suggestions so far would work. --Michig (talk) 06:40, 7 October 2017 (UTC)

- Move to Tommy Price (speedway rider, born 1907), since both were British. The 1911 Price only moved to Australia after his retirement. It is, however, usual to include occupation in the disambiguator for clarity. -- Necrothesp (talk) 13:33, 11 October 2017 (UTC)
- Oppose – the rationale makes little sense. There is no need for a disambiguator to point out nationality. Just use something that disambiguates from others by the same name; name or profession or birth date, generally not more than one. Dicklyon (talk) 03:41, 16 October 2017 (UTC)
