Cornell University

Mr Jones did not lead students in the take-over of Willard Straight Hall. At least two other students planned the take-over (on Cornell's parents' weekend) and it was these two students who led other African-American students into the Straight. Mr Jones was not a prominent student leader at Cornell; he kept very much to himself. He did, however, participate in discussions that led to a resolution of the take-over.

I attended Cornell University from 1967 - 1971 and was involved in the take-over. I knew the students who planned and executed the take-over. I did not recall Mr Jones attending the "pre-take-over" party held right before students entered the Straight. 170.223.19.5 19:37, 9 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Timothy Noah seems of the impression that Mr. Jones was a bit more involved than this anonymous user posited. Similarly, Minding the Campus refers to him as "AAS leader, Tom Jones". For that matter, so does Cornell, and in an article quoting Mr. Jones. It appears that this article may need some updating.
