According to John Muzaka's memoir, his uncle Theodor III died childless and the Muzaka principality was inherited by John's father, Gjin II. He does not mention his uncle ever being married either. The source in which Jakup bey is mentioned as Theodor's son is a contemporary one, therefore, I find it strange how Muzaka fails to recognise a direct first cousin or an aunt-in law.
As you might know, John Muzaka goes into detail even with extended family members. Furthermore, we know it is not a religious issue, as he does mention his cousins who "turn Turk" (become muslims), as was the case of Skenderbeg Crnojević, his first cousin once removed. Neither do I believe it to be a case of illegitimacy, as John Muzaka does not fail to include another cousin of his who was of illegitimate birth.
Could someone cite any other sources in which Jakup Muzaka is confirmed to be Theodor III's biological son? I apologise in case I am mistaken from lack of better research. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Udhakjx (talk • contribs) 13:32, 25 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
