"Correct in its assessment"?

Under the heading "Reception", the first sentence of the final paragraph asserts "Critics of The Women's Room considered the novel too harsh on men, whereas its average women readers did not; the latter found French's writing correct in its assessment." There are a number of problems with this claim. First, the source, such as it is provided, is simply listed as "From Women's Room to Women's Movement by Susan G. Cole, Herizons, 23, no.1 (2009)". This sort of citation is useless since the vast majority of readers will not have access to the source text. Also, who are "its average women readers"? How could the views of such a group possibly be ascertained? Was there a readers' response card tucked into that issue, which the majority of readers filled-out and returned? Of course not. As for "...found French's writing correct in its assessment" -- this again goes far too far in claiming "correctness" in "assessment", rather than more accurately stating that some readers agreed with the writer's perspective. This kind of opinion-masquerading-as-fact is inimical to encyclopedias and should be reworded or removed. More to the point, it violates WP:NPOV Bricology (talk) 21:59, 23 June 2021 (UTC)

I've updated the ref to include the Proquest ID to make it more accessible, and modified the wording to a direct quote rather than stating Cole's conclusions in wikivoice. "the later...correct in its assessment" was not stated in the source. Schazjmd (talk) 22:25, 23 June 2021 (UTC)
