editI would query whether this article should be in Category:Films based on Moby-Dick. As the article makes clear that the story is based on the real life final voyage and loss of the whaler Essex and the fate of its crew. While Moby-Dick was in part inspired by the same real life events, it does not follow that that means that this film was based on Moby-Dick. The characters featured in the film are not the characters of the novel Moby-Dick, but are named for and based on real people who served on the Essex - eg Thomas Nickerson and Captain Pollard. Thus while the film has a relationship to 'Moby-Dick I am really skeptical that it can be in a category for works based on it. I prefer the way it is included under "related" in Template:Moby-Dick, and therefore wonder if inclusion in Category:Moby-Dick would be a better option? Dunarc (talk) 20:00, 24 May 2020 (UTC)
