editHmm... I remember the reason for the Magellan's visit differently. Then again, I may just have been confused by the Short Story version...--Fangz 14:19, 5 Jun 2004 (UTC)
I recently finished the novel. That's why I took a look at this article. If you like I'll be happy to cite from the book to justify my changes. On the whole, I thought that your original article was very nicely worded and I tried not to muck it up (much) with my adjustments. --Adammc 14:00, 8 Jun 2004 (UTC)
Cryonic suspension
editThe section about CS seems more like an ad for the Alcor company linked; I'd like to remove it. "Though not fully reversible" is pretty euphemistic considering that someone is indeed left brain-dead after their treatment. --Syzygy (talk) 12:05, 19 March 2008 (UTC)
Moving this uncited apparent opinion / WP:OR to Talk: "In some sense, it was written as a response to critics who attacked his writings as cold and impersonal." -- Please cite if replaced. -- 201.37.230.43 (talk) 17:15, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
Key points?
editI thought a key point was that Thallisans had deliberately not been introduced to religion or superstition - the Magellan crew has to struggle with whether to explain this to Thallasians or not. The crew of Magellan has carefully selected a planet devoid of life to colonize - they believe teraforming of a life-bearing world to be incorrect Feldercarb (talk) 14:12, 1 November 2018 (UTC)
