editWow, someone needs to expand/correct this page... :'(
Working on it. WAVY 10 16:35, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
Tutwater Switch of '89/'90
editWhy do the Gospel Bill/Adventures in Dry Gulch episodes from around 1990 have T.W. Tutwater instead of T.U. Tutwater?
WAVY 10 16:35, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
Not sure on that, but the page is looking a lot better.
I edited out the randomly inserted/in wrong format song lyrics that mysteriously had appeared under trivia.
Song Question
editI put in an entry under Trivia mentioning the few songs not performed by Ken Blount on this show. I checked today and saw this added:
"...and "The Joy of the Lord" by the orange and blue in a stripe shirt puppets."
I don't remember the shirt pattern, but I do remember there were puppets, but Ken Blount led the song as well. If this says in, I think Ken's role in the song needs to be added.

Yeah, Ken was definitely a part of that.
Tutwater a Christian?
editThat's news to me, because the episodes I'm thinking of didn't say one way or the other about T.U. Tutwater. (There may have been some mention about T.W. being a Christian, though.) Maybe I'm confused.
BTW, I'm not sure how anyone thought of him as a Jewish stereotype.
Edit War
editLooks like we've had an edit war over the last few days. WAVY 10 17:46, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
Maniac Mission Vandal
editMaybe we should see if we can do something about this vandal. WAVY 10 14:38, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
- The vandal in question is indefblocked user User:Mmbabies, who is IP surfing to avoid his block, and has been for three months. -- Gridlock Joe 14:51, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
- Guess we've got a sockpuppet we're dealing with. WAVY 10 15:37, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, and a particularly frustrating one; he has dynamic IPs. Check his list of sockpuppets for the gory truth. -- Gridlock Joe 16:45, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

Varied Threats
editI noticed that each of the varied IP's used by Mmbabies tends to include in the vandalism something to the equivalent of threats concerning Kellie Copeland Kutz where the song she did for the show is mentioned. Is there a separate area where Wikipedia deals with threats? WAVY 10 13:42, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
Types of vandalism on this page
editThe vandalism this page seems to have suffered from since I first discovered it is coming in one of two fashions:
- Maniac Mission vandal posting the logo of that thing (I will attempt in the near future to get a screenshot of the title card)
- Their vicious "critique" (too generous?) of Kellie's vocal performance (of the song "It's God").
Keep an eye out for both. WAVY 10 15:56, 21 June 2007 (UTC)+
- Actually, "Maniac Mission" is actually "Maniac Mansion", which was a popular late-1980s video game (see "Maniac Mansion"). The vandal also has given the game a fictional spinoff, "Maniac Mansion Babies" (his name, "mmbabies", is based on that). He is deaf, dumb and blind to reality, so let's keep a sharp eye out. -- azumanga 01:45, 23 June 2007 (UTC)
Music Videos by Ken Blount and 3 others on YouTube
editWhen is going to show all Ken Blount's and 3 others Music Videos on YouTube?
- I don't even have all of those. WAVY 10 19:52, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
Then get Sky Angel satellite and find the channel called Angel Two or Kids & Teens TV and record the music video on The Gospel Bill Show or Adventures in Dry Gulch.
Let me rephrase that (BTW, you forgot to sign). I have DirecTV now, for one thing, and anyway, I have a fairly large amount of the videos that air (on Daystar) on VHS (and some I put on DVD) of the episodes that usually are run (1986-90 is the time period of episodes normally re-run). WAVY 10 14:16, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
But if this show canceled temporarily on Daystar, it's gone. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.90.178.88 (talk) 23:27, August 22, 2007 (UTC)

editThis clown just doesn't quit, does he? (BTW, I'm curious: What's up with this guy's obsession with eggs?) WAVY 10 18:11, 20 July 2007 (UTC)
- ...and his obsession of making incorrect math problems involving channel numbers of Houston TV stations (such as 26 x 2 = 51 -- in his logic, it can't be "52", as Houston has no channel 52). Either way, this has to stop NOW. -- azumanga 01:59, 21 July 2007 (UTC)
- I removed more eggs/chicken/watermelon mathematics from this page earlier this evening. Truly bizarre. Postoak 08:49, 21 July 2007 (UTC)
- And shouldn't 22 x 2 = 45 (KXLN), not 47? And yes, I'm being sarcastic. -- azumanga 18:11, 21 July 2007 (UTC)

Related Movies
editI just created a sub-section on the three Gospel Bill/Bill Gunter & Wichita Slim movies on this page, as the movies are connected to this show (though Copeland's character seems to have top billing). WAVY 10 18:32, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
I just saw an episode yesterday featuring the longtime Petra frontman. WAVY 10 17:28, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
Title Card
editWould anyone object to me adding a title card screencap to the article sometime tomorrow night? I just got the TBN suite on my cable system and am able to make screencaps. The only thing I'm leery of is making it a Mmbabies taget (despite the semi-protect on the page). Nate 08:01, 25 August 2007 (UTC)
- Added to the article, despite his response on Saturday evening to my question. Hopefully it sticks without him interfering... Nate 07:41, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
- Would it be advisable for me to upload the later title card (as "Adventures in Dry Gulch")? WAVY 10 15:19, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
- Definitely welcomed. Nate 04:41, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

Pictures of Gospel Bill and the gang
editNow that we got the logo, how about the pictures of Gospel Bill and the gang? (Mmbabies need not reply.) -- azumanga 01:34, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
- Do you mean by themselves or as a group? Either way, I should be able to get a screencap since I've begun recording them to DVD. WAVY 10 15:22, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
- Either one. Or both -- whatever makes you happy. -- azumanga 05:35, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
S-P
editI have just applied for semi-protect on this page and Nicole C. Mullen's pages, along with the LTA. Nate 03:47, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
- It has gone through with a one-week semi-protect. Thank you Alison :)! Nate 07:46, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
- Semi-protected - no problem :) - Alison ☺ 07:53, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
Notability
editThis article appears to have undergone a fair amount of editing by not a few authors. Can anyone explain how this subject meets the notability criteria for inclusion? I see no evidence that it does, but I'm willing to be dissuaded before taking the matter to WP:AfD. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 19:01, 15 December 2009 (UTC)
- It is a program which has aired on broadcast television for a long period of time. Although religious television programs are less well-known than their secular counterparts, this was one of the better known children's religious shows within the 80's and 90's. It was also a major part of the children's schedule for The Family Channel, one of the most watched cable networks of that time. Thus notability is easily established. Nate • (chatter) 11:39, 16 December 2009 (UTC)
- For a show that seems so significant, I find surprisingly little note of it on the internet, other than some blogs of individuals fondly remembering it. I would have thought it would have made more of a splash in the Christian media. Perhaps such media is not available online? WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 13:36, 16 December 2009 (UTC)
- Most of the Christian television shows here have hard times getting sources beyond their own webpages from the producing ministries or networks. It hasn't been unusual that many of these shows have been taken to AfD while very low-tier 80's secular kids shows like Kissyfur are safe from the process despite a lack of material for them on the web also based on them just being on broadcast TV. Nate • (chatter) 03:38, 17 December 2009 (UTC)
- I guess I can buy into the notability of a show that ran for 12 years on some rather major cable networks. A shame such a show would not have garnered more media attention, though. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 12:58, 17 December 2009 (UTC)

Episode List?
editThe episode list on the page only has the episodes currently available on DVD... but its a tiny fraction of episodes produced (it was on for 12 years, afterall). Is it worthwhile to have a vastly incomplete episode list? Or maybe it should at least specify its the episodes available on DVD... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.30.226.11 (talk) 00:46, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
Merger proposal
edit- The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section. A summary of the conclusions reached follows.
- The result of this discussion was to merge the two pages. Citrivescence (talk) 23:56, 21 October 2018 (UTC)
I propose that The Candy Store be merged into The Gospel Bill Show. The Candy Store is completely unreferenced and I have been unable to locate any independent, secondary sources. I think that the content can be added to The Gospel Bill Show without causing any issues. --Citrivescence (talk) 02:25, 20 October 2018 (UTC)
- Support I didn't even know about that article, so merging is for the best for sure. Nate • (chatter) 02:58, 20 October 2018 (UTC)
- Support per reasons stated above. WAVY 10 Fan (talk) 12:39, 20 October 2018 (UTC)
