Graffiti
editMaybe the boy Sherlock goes to see about the graffiti is an allusion to the baker street boys from the novels?
Sign of Four?
editI thought the plot of people looting treasure (and double cross), people being killed in rooms where there is no apparent sign of entry or exit are also allusions to the "Sign of Four". The sign for "4" in the novel and the sign for "5" in the episode are also quote similar — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.221.152.231 (talk) 04:35, 8 January 2012 (UTC)
"M"
editI think it's probably clear that 'M' was Moriarty... could have sworn I read something confirming that; does anyone have a source? 75.156.56.50 (talk) 02:03, 17 April 2012 (UTC)Griffin
- I agree that it probably is a reference to Moriarty but it should not be linked to the page. That is speculation. Anyone care to remove it? If it isn't removed, then the wording could be changed to suggest that M is Moriarty. Buzzbo (talk) 19:56, 14 February 2013 (UTC)
Synopsis
editM is hardly Shan's superior? He helps them get into London; they don't seem to belong to the same syndicate. Source it or change it, I say. /Julle (talk) 22:01, 15 December 2012 (UTC)
Twitter ref
editThe Twitter ref is a problem as Moffat has deleted his twitter account. Someone will need to find it on Twitoaster or something similar. I'll try my best. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 08:05, 19 March 2013 (UTC)
Racism
editThe episode has been criticised for orientalism and fetishisation as well. http://www.racialicious.com/2011/09/29/its-orientalization-my-dear-watson-sherlock-holmes-trouble-with-race/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.168.66.14 (talk) 15:07, 11 October 2013 (UTC)
