The/the in infobox

edit

@Life of Tau: You did such a great job ensuring we can have "the Beatles" in the Artist field in each infobox for Beatles singles (per the RfC), but "The Beatles" in the chronology, where the words sit at the start of the line, of course. I've tried to do something similar here using the same "Extra chronology" markup, but can't get it to work. Perhaps it's me being useless, or an issue with Infobox concert tour – any idea how to fix it? Thanks, JG66 (talk) 00:10, 21 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

@JG66: Adding a chronology field and setting it as "[[The Beatles]] concert chronology" seems to do the trick. LifeofTau 00:27, 21 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

I'll review this. Mike Christie (talk - contribs - library) 09:55, 21 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

I'll copyedit as I go; please revert if I make a mess of anything.

  • Not an issue for GA, but [1] is a dead link.
  • an album that reflected a more experimental approach as well as the increasing division between the music they made as live performers: suggest adding "and their studio work" to the end.

That's all I can find. The prose is in very good shape. I see no reason to delay GA status for these minor points, so I am promoting. Mike Christie (talk - contribs - library) 10:44, 21 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Mike Christie, wow, thanks. Quick and painless. (Funny thing is, I thought I'd pulled this from the nominations list in August, before going away for a month!) Thanks again, I'll be sure to look into those two issues you've raised. JG66 (talk) 13:11, 21 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

User:JG66 please explain why you reverted my edits: [2]. It is perfectly appropriate to link the countries and cities as I did. The Beatles toured West Germany, not Germany, so the "what was then" is not required. A link should be inserted when it first appears. "Delhi, India" is correct, "Delhi in India" is not the usual way of stating a city in a country. Mztourist (talk) 03:47, 31 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Mztourist, refer to WP:OVERLINK. Tkbrett (✉) 04:11, 31 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
I am familiar with overlink, however it is perfectly appropriate to link West Germany as the country which they visited (and which no longer exists) and the rest of the places they toured/visited are linked later, so they can all be linked in the lede.
