editI thought this was one of Jonathan King's many aliases, or at least he could have had some connection with them. PatGallacher 19:50, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
Article merge.
editThere has been a suggestion by User:E-Kartoffel that this article should be merged with that of Brett Marvin and the Thunderbolts. This is not an altogether unreasonable suggestion as Terry Dactyl and the Dinosaurs was made up of some members of Brett Marvin, and the Terry Dactyl article as it stands quickly becomes referenced to Brett Marvin. An issue might be that Terry Dactyl appeared to have been originated, and ran its course as a band, during a period when I believe Brett Marvin had 'split-up' temporarily. If this doesn't pose a problem, then a decision would have to be made as to which name the two band article names should run under; or would a new article with new name need to be created? Brett Marvin has a longer history and is better known within blues genre circles; Terry Dactyl, with its brief history, is better known (remembered) by the wider public. Perhaps a bigger issue is the 'state' of the Brett Marvin article which reads as blatant fan publicity, and indeed was virtually entirely lifted from the band's web site, complete with unsubstantiated and unreferenced quotes and 'historical facts'. If a merge is desirable, then a complete re-write to Wikify the Brett Marvin article would be desirable first, and long-overdue, before that merge might be considered. By removing all claims without citations in that article, (and a band web site is not considered automatic proof in encyclopedic terms however true or untrue be its claims) I estimate the article would be reduced to perhaps less than 25% of its length; I would be quite willing to attempt this, with overview and advice from other Wikipedia editors.. I invite other Wikipedia editors to comment.

- My view is that each group is a separate entity, with different time spans and musical styles, and potential readers would not expect the two to be within one article. You are also correct as to the potential problematical titling of such a merged article. Obviously the two articles need to be wikilinked, to show the blatant connections, although I think that they already are. So, no merge is my considered opinion.
- The issue of Brett Marvin's article is the bigger problem, and I suggest that needs to be addressed sooner, rather than any other consideration. There is a potential copy vio issue, apart from other factors. Also, size is not everything, but verifiability certainly is. Just my view, but I would suggest that traffic here is very slight, and you may have to wait forever for others to pass comment.
"Seaside Shuffle" cover artwork
editPresumably this is one of Jack Edward Oliver's best known images: [1] with his signature logo clearly visible. I wonder is there any copyright free version available to upload to Commons? Thanks. Martinevans123 (talk) 23:33, 16 December 2013 (UTC)
Track Omitted from 'Best of' Album

- You might want to add that album to the Discography section, although we don't generally give full track lists in an artist's article. Thanks. Martinevans123 (talk) 13:39, 8 February 2024 (UTC)
- I must respectfully point out that the album in question is The Best Of Jona Lewie, released over 20 years ago. See this listing. Therefore I would not expect a Terry Dactyl and the Dinosaurs track to appear on such an album (apart from contractual reasons). Thanks, - Derek R Bullamore (talk) 13:47, 8 February 2024 (UTC)
- Many thanks, Derek. So it might be added to Jona Lewie. But not surprising that it doesn't have "Seaside Shuffle". Martinevans123 (talk) 13:50, 8 February 2024 (UTC)
