Improper transliteration of the name
editThere's no way this could be Tel Keppe as opposed to Tell Keppe as the former is a Hebrew transliteration and the latter is an Arabic one. If no one has any objections, I will make this move in a few days. Sir William Matthew Flinders Petrie | Say Shalom! 16 Adar 5775 22:13, 7 March 2015 (UTC)
- Tel Kayf is located in an Arabic country and the direct translation from Arabic is TL KYF. The village was originally named in Neo-Arameaic as "Til Keppeh" There is no "p" in Arabic and most "p"s that are translated from the Neo-Arameaic language are translated to the Arabic letter for "B". But in this situation, the P is translated to an F. So, since the village is currently an Arabic country it took the name Tel Kayf, or commonly written Tel Kaif. Hope that helps! --Lawrencegoriel (talk) 20:00, 25 March 2015 (UTC)

ISIS
editThe article states that Tel Keppe is freed but the template shows it still as under ISIS control. What's right? --2A02:908:C30:3680:19E:28D8:822C:24D6 (talk) 14:56, 12 January 2017 (UTC)
- No, still under ISIS control. The article only actually said that Iraqi troops were going there, but I have just clarified the paragraph. Batternut (talk) 22:32, 12 January 2017 (UTC)
Recent Edits prompting the tags
editRecent edits by an IP user(s) to this and several other pages consistently make Chaldean Christians their own ethnic group rather than being Assyrian. I don't know enough about the subject matter to know if this is correct. However, similar past edits were reverted, and the current edits also make claims beyond what is in the cited sources. Thus the placement of the flags int he hopes they'll attract someone more knowledgeable. 2601:401:502:320A:44E6:16AF:15FF:6799 (talk) 03:25, 26 August 2017 (UTC)
