So much of what is going on is about technology and communication. I am really happy to see Taree High turn up on a site like this, good on the author. Peter Bird,--124.187.141.68 07:36, 18 July 2007 (UTC) PrincipalReply

Layout/Infobox

edit
  • I think additional references are definately needed, however I think the infobox does the right job as it is using the school colours. Would there be a way to slightly modify the standardised infobox, to allow for the yellow background? This colour is quite an important element in my opinion as it is used throughout the school (uniform, newsletter, etc). Please post your ideas. Smvvv 03:10, 19 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
The infobox that is required for this school is Template:Infobox Aust school. Colour cannot be incorporated into the infobox itself, however you may include a colour box (see Sydney Girls High School and Riverside Girls High School for examples). If you need any help, or want me to do it, just let me know. Cheers! Loopla 03:16, 19 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Changes

edit

Just thought I would explain some of the changes I have made. I've removed the names of school captains from the infobox as general concensus is that names of minors should not be included (not sure why the infobox still includes them). Also removed names of staff as they're also not really notable, generally just the principal, founder, chairman are worthy of inclusion (normally just in the infobox). Have also attempted to merge bits of info into clear sections, and have removed some that aren't really worth mentioning. Think that covers the major bits. Anyway, great work on this article so far! For tips of making it better check out Scotch College, Perth and Aquinas College, Perth (these 2 are both rated as Good Articles), and also Wikipedia:WikiProject Schools for school article guidelines. It's looking good, heaps more encyclopedic! :D Just with the motto, the school has adopted the motto "fostering a safe and friendly learning environment" and although this newer slogan doesn't appear on the badge, it's used on all letterheads, newsletters and the website, so I think it's more appropriate than the previous one, what do you think? Maybe we can mention both? Smvvv 02:52, 27 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
I'd say thats more of a slogan than a motto. Most schools seem to have a slogan that they use on websites/letterheads etc but the motto is still used on the crest and is part of the schools history. The slogan could perhaps be mentioned in the intro as long as its referenced but the historical motto should stay in the infobox. Loopla 06:15, 28 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
