Influence of BCPL
editI've been looking for the first time at Brian Kernighan and Ken Thompson. A nerdy delight for any Vintage Computer Fest 2019 attendee: Kernighan interviewing Thompson about Unix. YouTube. Retrieved September 3, 2019. (excuse the punctuation there -- it comes from {{cite_av_media}}), and noticed a contradiction with this article. Take a look at the video from 41m11s to 43m33s and compare it with what the article says. Perhaps the article should mention (and source) both versions. - coincidence! just seen this after adding that awesome tale. that video definitely needs (even) wider circulation. not sure what is the contradiction? i have not read the citations -- have you? 121.127.208.156 (talk) 02:28, 28 October 2019 (UTC)
- i think this might be a case of different people giving only half the story; never the whole story -- creating a false impression of contradiction. maybe. 121.127.208.156 (talk) 02:31, 28 October 2019 (UTC)
