Different versions

edit

The article should mention there are at least 3 different versions of this single (I'd add this information, but I can't find a source other than the actual records themselves, which I have): Version 1 used primarily 1950s-era recordings for the Bill Haley samples; version 2 substituted recordings from 1968 for the Haley samples; version 3 used house musicians to perform the music. 70.72.211.35 (talk) 14:33, 10 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

linked person

Is it confirmed the linked John Pickles is the same person who was in the group? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.253.103.253 (talk) 16:47, 26 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

What part did "Jive Bunny" write?

edit

The article claims: The two-second intervals are for the material Jive Bunny was to have written himself, e. g., the mixing. Otherwise the record would have been regarded as a compilation single, attributable only to "Various Artists". Well, first of all, Jive Bunny is not a real person; if anyone wrote any new material for this single, it was probably John Pickles, Andy Pickles, Les Hemstock, and/or one or more of their associates. Second, listening to the track at [1], I can't detect any two-second gaps between the samples that are filled in by new music. Often there's a "stutter"-like edit of one of the old songs repeating a word or two, but that doesn't seem like enough to justify a songwriting credit (much less the "sole" songwriting credit). If indeed there is material in this song written by one of the Mastermixers, we should say something like this: "The two-second intervals are for the new material written by [Hemstock or John or Andy Pickles] under the pseudonym Jive Bunny." --Metropolitan90 (talk) 23:11, 16 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
