Gde žive ovh 400 stanovnika u/na svetom stefanu? Da li je celo ostrvo grad-hotel ili ima još neko naselje van? --[[User:BokicaK|Bojan]] 14:44, 12 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

This is an advertisement

edit

This is an advertisement. There are only a few lines about history, but no mention about how this island was formed, about its development, about marine life surrounding it ... I believe that this island deserves much more than a list of celebrities who have visited it, about tycoons who were interested in becoming owners, about famous tenors who sang for the sake of promoting the hotel, and when that hotel was renovated. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rumplstilckin (talkcontribs) 12:43, 9 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

This article doesn't really add all that much on its own and should just be part of the main Sveti Stefan article as that's more notable. Additionally, it appears that where this article is not an advertisement, it is swiping real information from Sveti Stefan. Primecoordinator (talk) 18:42, 09 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Image from this article to appear as POTD soon

edit

Hello! This is a note to let the editors of this article know that File:Sveti Stefan (06).jpg will be appearing as picture of the day on 27 November 2018. You can view and edit the POTD blurb at Template:POTD/2018-11-27. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page. Thanks  — Amakuru (talk) 16:07, 6 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Sveti Stefan is a small islet and five-star hotel on the Adriatic coast of Montenegro, close to the city of Budva. Sveti Stefan was the capital city of the Paštrovići community, which became a protectorate of the Republic of Venice in 1423 having likely been independent since the twelfth century. Following a population decline in the early twentieth century, the Yugoslav authorities relocated the remaining population and converted the islet into a luxury hotel. It became popular with celebrities such as Marilyn Monroe and was used by Novak Djokovic for his wedding in 2014. It is now operated by Aman Resorts.Photograph: Halavar

New article titled Sveti Stefan (Settlement).

edit

I think this article should be split into an article about the settlement, this article just discusses the resort and not the actual settlement itself (on the mainland) Audi1merc2 (talk) 17:32, 15 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Instead, I suggest splitting out the hotel away from the article. Sveti Stefan is the name of the settlement; the article magnifies the importance of the hotel at the detriment of the settlement itself; both on the mainland and the peninsula (Old Town). Moreover, the infobox requires changing. Instead of a hotel infobox, a settlement should be replaced. The information about the hotel may be inserted under a subtitle. Arbustum (talk) 10:02, 20 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

Owner?

edit

Google Maps shows Sveti Stefan is comprised of the island, as well as about 2 km of mainland. The infobox claims Aman Resorts "owns" Sveti Stefan, which implies it owns all of Sveti Stefan, island + mainland. This source says the company only owns the island.
