He died in South Africa. Was he an immigrant there, or only visiting? When did he emigrate? He was in Australia in the 1880s, but South Africa is not formed until 1910, so if he emigrated before that he would be an emigrant to the Orange Free State/Orange River Colony; Cape Colony; Colony of Natal; or the South African Republic or Transvaal Colony.
