Fair use rationale for Image:Steven R. McQueen, Steve McQueen's grandson.jpg

edit

Image:Steven R. McQueen, Steve McQueen's grandson.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

R?

edit

So if Chadwick is his middle name, where does the "R" come from? P. D. Cook Talk to me! 02:19, 22 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Since most actors don't use their middle names, his stage name would have been "Steven McQueen", a tad too similar to "Steve McQueen". That's probably why he added a middle initial. As for why that initial is "R" instead of "C" - I've heard that the reason was to honor his step-father ("Robitaille"), who raised him. "Chadwick" is his father's birth name. File:Steven R. Mcqueen.jpg Nominated for speedy Deletion

edit
An image used in this article, File:Steven R. Mcqueen.jpg, has been nominated for speedy deletion at Wikimedia Commons for the following reason: Copyright violations
What should I do?

Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Commons Undeletion Request

Uncited information about Steven's spouse

edit

A couple of days ago, an IP user 1.158.209.189 added Rebecca Kay as Steven's spouse without citation, I have requested a source to be added. The user removed my citation request and when I subsequently removed the uncited information, the IP user re-add the same information without citation. Obviously, if this information is genuine, it should be included, however, if there is no reliable source to that information, it must be removed immediately. I am inviting the IP user 1.158.209.189 to come to discuss why this information is notable without citation. Aviator006 (talk) 15:53, 3 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

have tried to add the viable information but am unable can you provide further instructions please

In your own talk page, there are instructions on how to provide citation. Unfortunately, uncited information (e.g. information with no original source) cannot be included in Wikipedia. Aviator006 (talk) 20:09, 3 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

I cannot see anything but I am trying to look into it now.. they are not married but dating I will try fix this

Please DO NOT re-add the information after I have deleted it. When you have a reliable source for the information, then you can re-add the information together with the citation to ensure it will not removed again. Aviator006 (talk) 20:24, 3 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

how do I add the citation.

Please read Help:Referencing_for_beginners and follow its instruction and please DO NOT re-add uncited information again until you know how to cite. Aviator006 (talk) 20:32, 3 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

"Career-ending" injury?

edit

If McQueen suffered a career-ending injury on the set of Chicago Fire in 2016, how was he still working in subsequent projects up to 2020? Perhaps the wording could be changed to "significant injury" or actually specify the nature of said injury. 14.2.7.181 (talk) 00:19, 28 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

It was the fictional character that he played who was badly injured, not the real world actor. Cullen328 (talk) 00:24, 28 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
I added a few words to clarify that. Cullen328 (talk) 00:29, 28 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Cullen328 Thank you for that clarification - definitely makes more sense now! 14.2.7.181 (talk) 20:52, 29 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
