SEA vs. HEC

edit

In almost every state in the US state education agencies (SEAs) are separate entities that uniquely control the public, K-12 education system. Higher education coordinating boards, or commissions, are always separate entitires that uniquely control post-high school learning. I'll park the THECB here until someone starts the HEC page. - Freechild 14:07, 11 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

I moved this info to Universities in the United States#Government coordination. – Freechild (BoomCha) 19:43, 2 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Lists and Webpages

edit

Would it be a good idea to provide a list of all of the state agencies and their webpages? — Chris53516 (Talk) 19:29, 31 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

I would argue in favor of that, being that each SEA is inherently notable, and simply waiting for an article to be written about them. If I were to do it - which I won't - I would redline each state's appropriately named SEA and then add a citation link for their websites appropriately. Good luck. - Freechild 20:19, 31 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
I started to add state tests to this page, and it's taking a while. I'll see what I can do... — Chris53516 (Talk) 21:37, 31 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
I see that there is an external link with all of the links provided. Perhaps that's the best way to go, since Wikipedia is not a link farm. — Chris53516 (Talk) 14:19, 5 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

I added the links, whether broken or not, for all of the states. It would be nice if someone could either find the existing article or start a new article for the state department. — Chris53516 (Talk) 15:24, 5 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Merger

edit

This content [Superintendent of Public Instruction] should be moved to State education agency because it is redundant and confuses the issue of who is the SEA or state leader for education. It is close to forking. – Freechild (BoomCha) 07:47, 5 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Update Needed

edit

I noticed that several of the people listed as Chief State School Officers in this article are no longer in office, and need to be replaced by the current incumbent on the List if that information is publicly available. Any assistance from my fellow Wikipedians in reviewing and updating the List would be most appreciated.--TommyBoy (talk) 02:12, 3 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

I have updated some of the current incumbents on this List, but as I said previously, any further assistance from my fellow Wikipedians in updating the List would be most appreciated.--TommyBoy (talk) 14:18, 3 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
