Removed Two Categories

edit

This page is to do with people who created the show and the band. So this page does not need to be on the Teletoon shows category or the Animated shows in Canada category. Mr. C.C. 19:53, 12 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Is there a separate article dealing with the animated show? Class=Stub as content is missing re: Gemini nom's per Hamilton Spectator. The article relies on one source a blog. The article has a laundry list. Argolin (talk) 16:52, 27 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

It is not particularly clear that the band and their eponymous television series require two separate articles. Fundamentally, the television series is the band's principal notability claim, and they really don't have any serious claim to passing WP:NMUSIC as a standalone topic separately from the television series.

The band article is incredibly poorly sourced, with just two footnotes in it. One of those two hits is a deadlinked primary source about the television series getting a Gemini Award nomination, and thus spoke (badly but repairably via ProQuest) to the notability of the television series rather than the notability of the band — and while the Hamilton Spectator hit (deadlinked but recoverable via ProQuest) can claim to be "about" the band, even it is still "about" the band in the context of the television series, and thus isn't convincing evidence that the band and the television series need two separate articles.

And while the TV series article isn't particularly well-sourced either, there are enough hits in ProQuest to salvage it, while there really isn't any significant amount of "about the band as a band independently of the television series" coverage for the purposes of needing two articles here instead of just one. And since both articles are significantly overloaded with unsourced fancruft that would be trimmed back in any effort to improve the article, as well as some content that's merely duplicated across both articles anyway, a merged article would be noticeably shorter than just the current length of both articles smooshed together, so their present length isn't a meaningful reason to keep them split up.

So by contemporary standards, the band and the television series should really just be merged into one article rather than keeping two separate articles. Bearcat (talk) 20:30, 31 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
