– This is an unusual and motley RM request, consisting almost entirely of proposals to revert article moves performed by Bankster. Many of these moves did not occur after discussion that I believe was merited, and it appears unilateral page moves have been an issue for this editor in the last year after perusing his talk page. In some cases, the opening of this RM for an article does not indicate my support for a move but rather for the existence of a forum to discuss the move that was made and revert it if such is desired. However, in other cases, I support the move as well.

Some notes:

• Mexican State Public Broadcasting System — This agency has been around less than five years and as a result has next to no English-language sources on it. The only mention in Variety used "SPR", its acronym in Spanish.

• National Polytechnic Institute of Mexico — Had been previously moved to Instituto Politécnico Nacional in 2013 by Correogsk prior to this month's move; it was previously at National Polytechnic Institute. I support restoring the title but note that most of the articles in Category:Public universities and colleges in Mexico have translated names.

• National Radio of Colombia — The name "Señal Radio Colombia" is not used, and I am proposing the current network name "Radio Nacional de Colombia" instead. We have articles at Radio Nacional de España and Radio Nacional del Perú.

• Argentine Fishing Company — Academic sources consistently use the Spanish name. One notable example: in 2001, Ian B. Hart wrote a book on the topic titled Pesca: The History of Compañia Argentina de Pesca Sociedad Anónima of Buenos Aires: An Account of the Pioneer Modern Whaling and Sealing Company in the Antarctic.

• Channel 1 (Colombia) – The previous title was Canal Uno. However, the name is currently stylized Canal 1.

• Channel 9 (Argentina) — I debated whether the title should be Canal 9 (Argentina) as before the Bankster move in 2017 or El Nueve per current branding. There was an attempted move there but it was reverted because it had been done by a noted sock with an LTA page. I've opted for El Nueve in my proposal in recognition of this section of WP:NCBC: "'Channel' in article texts and naming is largely deprecated on Wikipedia and should be reserved only for articles about a single content stream with information too extensive to be included in the primary article for the associated network" or when it is the proper name. Noteworthy: Variety, where I frequently go to get a sense of what title is most used in English-language sources on foreign TV channels, has nothing in recent years. Argentine media seem to be fairly fluid still but the lean is toward El Nueve ([1], [2]). In the case of Channel 13, Variety uses El Trece (or ElTrece with no spacing) and local outlets are consistent as well.

• Channel 9 MCOT HD — This one is unlike the others, as this was a move by Bankster that was reverted nearly immediately but which I support. Even a non-Thai speaker could tell immediately this station did not brand as channel 9; instead, they seem to be branding as digital channel 30, making the need for a move rather pressing.

I understand that this is a bit of a diverse set of articles for a single RM and appreciate comments and suggestions, especially tailored to some of the more complicated cases above. Note that in only a handful of cases, justified above, am I proposing changes to the article titles as they were before the articles were moved. Raymie (t • c) 07:56, 19 March 2019 (UTC)

• Comment - Raymie: revert moves and speedy-close this request. Any undiscussed moves can be reverted to the long-standing title. Let User:Bankster then make individual move requests for items he still thinks are necessary. • Agree with mass revert. In the case of "terrestrial network", it is a rarely used term, and seems to mostly be used to refer to the transmitting equipment rather than a program service. "Broadcast network" remains the industry standard term for distributed programming.Thomas H. White (talk) 21:29, 19 March 2019 (UTC)
• I don't really agree with reverting these (except for "Terrestrial"), most of these articles are more accessible and more easily understood under their English titles. I especially think National Polytechnic Institute of Mexico should stay. – Þjarkur (talk) 17:35, 20 March 2019 (UTC)
  • Please reread WP:UE. It certainly does not say we should translate every title into English. It says we should do that only if there is a commonly-used English title in the sources. -- Necrothesp (talk) 13:46, 21 March 2019 (UTC)
• Support revert. As Raymie already stated, most of this moves were done without any discussion. Besides take for instance Compañía Argentina de Pesca and Liga de Fútbol Americano Profesional, here and here you can see how both sources use the native names in Spanish, so I think we should stick to them here as well. --Cocu15 (talk) 18:06, 21 March 2019 (UTC)
