Unclear

edit

"Worsthorne assumed the surname and arms of Towneley, an old recusant family, by royal license." Who does "Worsthorne" refer to? Simon (who it appears was never called Worsthorne), or his brother Peregrine?

"At the time of his wedding, he changed his name ..." Who did, and what to?

This family, using at least three different surnames, is already confusing enough. Sentences like the above do not make things any clearer. Maproom (talk) 13:36, 14 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Notability of Mary Townley

edit

When I try to find out more about Mary Towneley, after whom the famous Mary Towneley Loop is named, I am only redirected to her husband. Why is this? It would be hard to imagine this happening the other way around. 31.104.222.242 (talk) 05:51, 10 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
