editIn my opinion, links to porn videos should NOT be listed as an external link because wikipedia has people of all ages and should not encourage young people (like preteens or younger teens) to view it. Plus there are admins out there who do not like youtube being linked as an external link due to copyright infringement reasons --dputig07 08:10, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
Statistics
editIs the size of his penis "encyclopedic"? At a minimum I'm adding that it needs a citation. Nate 02:16, 5 June 2006 (UTC)
- I don't think so either, I'm going to remove it. Sam Burke 20:23, 13 August 2006 (UTC)
- I've changed to biography template to a more suitable actor one if that is ok. I also removed a link to adult content as I don’t think its appropriate for an encyclopaedia, even if he has starred in pornographic films. Sam Burke 20:40, 13 August 2006 (UTC)
- I think it should be included since it was part of his "acting" career. The sex scenes he has performed were not scandalous sex tapes released against his will. He agreed and performed in front of a camera for money.
- I don't think the purpose of an encyclopedia to be culturally sensitive to sex and sexuality. It should be used for reference and knowledge, no matter how unsavory it may be to some with more "conservative" tastes. Especially since he gained an award for said scenes, according to his own wiki page! (Note: Talking about his pornographic career. Not his penis size.) 74.78.219.170 (talk) 02:18, 15 December 2009 (UTC)
Acting Skill
editi think that they should not kick rex out because he is a funny person and his acting skills are good, they are stupids.... he should not be 'bullied' just for his past. u get me!!
- now when you say his acting skills are "good," are you comparing them to that of a piece of driftwood?
The picture
editI haven't seen the picture and am more interested in his contribution to standard entertainment and also I linked here via a Jewish website on Wikipedia as he's listed there as a Jewish Actor, which is in one way proof (possibly) that he is indeed Jewish, although I normally wouldn't expect one to demonstrate that so transparently. I am interested however that as a Jewish person what acting he had done in a purely cultural context that would demonstrate that he was in fact a 'Jewish Actor' or is it really that he is a an actor who just happens to be Jewish ? From a cultural perspective he probably has had roles that have had him call on his experience as a Jew to play a role that most audiences wouldn't fully appreciate or comprehend, but I think at times his sense of humour is achetypically that of suburban Jewry of shtetylim styling with a enquiring wit that could border on almost talmudic proportions. It's just a side thought anyway ..............
Hmm... it's nice I'll admit, but is it appropriate for the site?
I think it's just a little bit to revealing for an encyclopedia article... i don't have a problem with it personally, but I could quite well imagine that others would. Spheroide 18:56, 10 August 2005 (UTC)
After reading some more articles on what Wikipedia is and what not, I changed my thoughts on this image. Since the topic *is* on a (former) porn star, why not show the subject of the article in the way he became famous. Ok picture for me now!i love his penis and ass Spheroide 21:10, 10 August 2005 (UTC)
I wouldn't be opposed to the picture if he were still a porn star, but he isn't. A lot of threads link here, especially recent (legit) films he has been in. --Fallout boy 12:57, 23 August 2005 (UTC)
I have to say, I agree with fallout boy. People linking from sites for legit films or television series should not have to see the pic, no matter its possible appeal -- Daydream believer2 13:00, August 23, 2005 (UTC)
- I don't see what's wrong with it, it's not really a pornographic image. True that he isn't now a porn star, but that's how he started his career and he's still quite famous for it. Anyone who is offended by nudity would be rather foolish to click on a link labelled "warning: nudity", would they not? Cadr 22:58, 23 August 2005 (UTC)
Anyone got HQ video of his cock?
IMDB as bio source
editAnybody can write a bio for imdb, can't they? The adult film claim needs a more reliable source. The editor formerly known as Harmonica Wolfowitz 23:08, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
- I returned some of the information about his adult past. I left out the "gay audience" segment, since IMDb is not a reliable source for that. However - just as with his other roles which are listed on the page without a source - the porn films are a matter of fact. Daydream believer2 06:00, 23 August 2006 (UTC)
I did some editing tonight. and i was confused as how come imdb listed him for "hot session 11 and 12," when another site listed him for "hot session 3." so i checked out the club1821 site, he only did once in hot session 3. however, later on, that site produced hot session 11 which added some new footage. so he only made three pornos, solo 2, 3, and hot sessions 3. and he did not have sex with any other men in any films.
Categories
editHe still belongs in the "Male Porn Star" category as well. It doesn't matter if he no longer performs in these. The DVDs are still selling and he is still a star in this industry. All you have to do is a google search on images and you will get images of him masturbating. Doc ♬ talk 15:19, 23 August 2006 (UTC)
You have to put the references in the article. Saying "use Google" isn't good enough. Check WP:BIO and WP:BLP. The editor formerly known as Harmonica Wolfowitz 19:28, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
his sexuality
editi deleted that part "he is a homosexual." as a matter of fact, he has denied that he is gay in public a while ago. unless he comes out one day announce to the world that he is gay, no one should assume that he is "homosexual." and if you have seen the behind scene video made with Brad posey, he actually talked about he cheated on his gf, and he felt really bad, and during the session, he asked to see girlie mags, etc. SummerThunder 08:31, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
No one should assume he is heterosexual either. In one of the pornographic films he made, he was masturbating while watching a porn video of a MAN MASTURBATING, not a woman. There were no women in the video he was masturbating to, and orgasmed to. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.208.160.64 (talk) 23:18, 22 May 2011 (UTC)
YES, it SHOULD be assumed that people are heterosexual until it's proven they are gay. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Chris1emt (talk • contribs) 17:02, 6 August 2011 (UTC)
deleted possible gossip part
edit"In early of 1999, Rex engaged in a three year sexual relationship with gay pornstar Jeremy Jordan (porn star). The relationship broke off when Rex became involved with British singer Stephen Gately after meeting at the 1999 MTV Music Video Awards."
I deleted this part. i googled it, i didn't find anything about him with jeremy jordan. even if he really did, i doubt that he will tell the whole world about it. i didn't find anything about him with gay singer stephen gately, either. you simply can't find anything about it. someone wrote this
editTo see Simon's surprisingly BIG cock click this link -> [[1]]. He is on the second row down, first picture in. Also a second picture is on the row below (third row, first picture!). Enjoy them, I did!
then he tried to change the film name from forsaken to foreskin. haha.
that was funny, he probably thought that this is a blog or a forum. =) --SummerThunder 10:24, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
Considers himself bisexual?
editIs there a citation, any place to verify that he has referred to himself as bisexual? Rex fan 22:39, 17 September 2007 (UTC)
- I figured he was at LEAST bisexual. In at least one of those videos, he's jerking off to gay porn. --98.232.188.173 (talk) 18:20, 27 March 2010 (UTC)
- I think if you look closely in that picture you can see his reflection in the tv screen and he's just sitting there, not jerking. It was probably just shown to him so he could see what they're going to do with the footage (as it's also a Brad Posey video). Then they editing it in later to make it look like he's jerking to gay porn. --Valacan (talk) 15:10, 30 March 2010 (UTC)
- Oh please, that video wasnt edited, he masturbated to that. And ask anybody who used to work at MTV, he got his job because... well lets say one of the multimillionaire gay male executive producers of one of the most influential reality shows in history (its a REAL WORLD out there, by the way) really enjoyed having Simon there. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.208.160.64 (talk) 23:21, 22 May 2011 (UTC)
- Even if that's true, and it sounds very hearsay, that would make him gay-for-pay, not actually gay or bi. There's a big difference. Valacan (talk) 16:02, 24 May 2011 (UTC)
- That is true, Valacan. Unless an individual acknowledges, or there is clear factual evidence of, a particular sexual orientation, nothing should be assumed or "figured", IMO. Rms125a@hotmail.com (talk) 18:20, 24 May 2011 (UTC)
Gay for pay is a convenient excuse that closeted latent gay/bi men can use to lie to themselves because theyre not psychologically capable yet to accept their sexuality (Latent homosexuality or bisexuality). So you're straight, but you're having sex with men and getting aroused by men? That's complete b.s. and a complete copout. It's sad really... And it's not hearsay by the way about his past at MTV. You should see what he's been up to these days... Poor guy, I feel sorry for him though, using drugs as an escape...

Stallone was in adult movies as well
editit was stated "Rex is perhaps the only former porn actor to have made a somewhat successful transition to mainstream Hollywood." Yet even the wiki article on stallone states his adult films. This need to be updated.24.193.44.164 (talk) 14:40, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

Info about former porn career in article
editBefore this year there was always a note about the porn videos Simon was in, in the actual article. This was taken out for some reason. In fact this is how the article started, now there's talk about it at all? I know Simon has done a lot since but I think it's not very fair to his past to start leaving stuff like that out because it's controversial. I put it back it but it was taken out again because there seems to be some dispute about how notable it is. . . well this is how I first heard of him and pretty much every biography of Simon Rex anywhere but this site notes it. Here are a bunch of examples: http://www.diggstars.com/1-20-4213/Simon_Rex.html http://www.zooped.com/tag/simon-rex/ http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0005350/bio http://www.tv.com/simon-rex/person/10163/biography.html http://www.starpulse.com/Actors/Rex,_Simon/index.html
Every one of those mentions his porn past in the article about him. So, can we please put it back in and leave it there? If I don't get any response to this in the next couple of days I will revert my post back in. Valacan (talk) 15:37, 21 January 2010 (UTC)
Filmography add
editHe was in a movie called "An American Carol" which made fun of Michael Moore. Played himself. I'd add it but I'm too lazy. Decent movie, though. Some good laughs. Tries to teach liberals some lessons on reality. Check it out! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Chris1emt (talk • contribs) 17:11, 6 August 2011 (UTC)
UPE tag
editThe UPE tag signifies to editors and to readers that the article has been extensively edited by someone with a conflict of interest (see tags above, on this page), and is likely to have bias, in the form of missing negative content, overemphasis on "positives", non-neutral language (all of which are violations of the WP:NPOV content policy), and is likely to have unsourced or poorly sourced content, in violation of the WP:VERIFY content policy. It is likely that the content promotes the subject of the article, in violation of the WP:PROMO policy. Independent editors need to review the article, including doing their own searches for sources to ensure that the article truly reflects what reliable sources say, and correct it, and then may remove the tag. If you do so, please leave a note here. Thanks. Jytdog (talk) 20:15, 21 January 2018 (UTC)

Why is Simon Rex introduced as a former pornographic actor but Stallone isn't?
editI don't understand why Rex shooting maybe an hour of pornography when he was 19 warrants an immediate mention in his Wikipedia bio. Especially considering that "former pornographic actor" Sylvester Stallone is not introduced as such. Typically, individuals on this website introduced as "former pornographic actors" derived a significant portion of their incomes, or their notoriety, from pornography. I'm going to remove it from the introduction of his bio. 11bkway11 (talk) 23:32, 1 December 2021 (UTC)
