the singer of nenani neevani song is not swetha prasad but swetha pandit. it was a typo on the cassette/CD labels which led to the confusion. 61.17.252.110 (talk) 23:20, 22 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Recent allegation

edit

Looks like we are facing a tough time to decide whether we should include details on the recent allegations. Editors added some details, few editors removed it, I made some copyedit and added some of those back into the article. I requested semi-protection and now the article has been fully-protected. I feel we should mention the allegation in brief with reliable sources. --TitoDutta 18:13, 3 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Noted actor Shweta Basu Prasad was arrested in Hyderabad on Sunday for being involved in a high-profile prostitution racket. Reports said the 23-year-old actor was caught "in a compromising position" after the Hyderabad Police raided a famous hotel at the upscale Banjara Hills in the city. She has recently (as of Sep 5, 2014) become the subject of talk and controversy after being arrested in a high profile prostitution racket, however, the situation has turned into her advantage as major Indian film makers are offering roles on her life focusing on exposing the pimps and clients then her, termed as "the soft target" 31.219.121.178 (talk) 19:55, 5 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

WP is not tabloid

edit

Any false claims and allegations against a person is required to be clearly marked as such. The subject has clearly informed news media reports are false and that legal action are to be taken. Based on this, have made changes in WP. Relevant policy WP:BLP Prodigyhk (talk) 04:30, 5 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Her words should be presented merely as her words, not as any kind of 'truth' - obviously she would do her best to protect her image. However, media may also be seeking a spicy story, and thus be biased. Crucial here is undistorted reports of officials (police, court and such). Materialscientist (talk) 04:53, 5 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
The problem is no official statement in the public domain. The only information we have are the media reports that subject had confessed. Now, that the subject has called these media reports false, it is important that we portray it as that. I am no PR agent of this lady. Just want to ensure we follow WP:BLP and WP does not become a source for these tabloid gossips. Prodigyhk (talk) 05:16, 5 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Arrest

edit

I see several discussions here on the arrest, and comments about additions and reverts. While I haven't gone through what was added or reverted, I have added a paragraph considering this an event that is significant, not recent, and still having exposure in the media as of August 2021. I am open to comments on neutrality. Jay (Talk) 22:43, 8 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

WoIfienair, what is the source of the file you uploaded: File:Shweta Basu Prasad Prtrait.jpg? The file comment at Commons says Cross-wiki upload from en.wiki.x.io, but you uploaded the file directly to commons, and not enwiki. Jay (talk) 08:16, 21 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
