Music Video Vs OVA Vs Anime
editA bit of confusion around this it seems, as it's not that common to see. The DVD with volume 3 contains four music videos, some of which are supposed to have the feel of an OP/ED, and others which are like character songs. That's all there is on the DVD, no anime preview video, no OVA. It was thought for a while that the clips themselves were a preview vid, but that's not the case. So, as far as I can tell, no anime planned, no OVA on the horizon, these clips are purely stand alone at the moment. Omnisentry (talk) 03:41, 11 January 2009 (UTC)
- Wait, but here [1] it states: "Akiyuki Shinbo (Negima!?, MoonPhase) oversees the animators at GENCO and SHAFT on the anime version. Daisuke Ono playing the demon lord Exoda Zero Crown, while Haruka Tomatsu and Kaori Nazuka play Princesses Garlet and Christina, respectively." Doesn't this imply that an anime version is in production? Or did these actors play a part in the AMVs? -- Highwind888, the Fuko Master 00:10, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
- And here [2] it states: "The publisher MediaWorks announced the anime adaptation at this weekend's Dengeki 15th Anniversary event in Tokyo, and showed part of the manga's DVD video during the event." Are you sure there's no anime adaptation? Hmm... but the dates for these pages are pretty old... So maybe not? I just really wanna know because this is one of the anime I'm REALLY looking forward to... -- Highwind888, the Fuko Master 00:14, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
- Now that I've downloaded the clips, I can answer the first question. There is a short monologue at the beginning, and some of the singers from the videos are easily recognizable, like Daisuke Ono and Haruka Tomatsu. They just seemed like OP/EDs to me, so it's understandable why people thought they were a preview for more to come, especially when you look at the content of the videos, where it seems strange that they would go to all the trouble if only for four short AMVs. And considering that those links are now rather old, and Shaft has been quite busy lately with Sayonara Zetsubō Sensei, Hidamari Sketch, Ef: A Fairy Tale of the Two., and Maria Holic, I doubt an anime will be produced.--十八 00:22, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
