The singer Shamshad Begum, discussed in the initial part of the article, is very much alive and still living in Mumbai.

The Shamshad Begum who died recently was a Pakistani actress.

Just today -- Thursday, April 25, 2013 -- the Chicago Sun-Times ran an obituary, with photo, of Shamshad Begum, "legendary Indian singer." The other Shamshad Begum was an actress who died several years ago. Incidentally, the obit states: "Ms. Begum was reclusive and self-conscious about her looks and refused to pose for photographs. Many of her fans saw what she looked like only in the 1970s." The photo accompanying the obit shows her from the side, in a wheelchair, accepting an award from Indian President Pratibha Patil in March of 2009. 38.115.185.4 (talk) 16:45, 25 April 2013 (UTC)HelenChicagoReply

She is alive. Read Dainik Bhaskar Hindi newspaper April 20, 2008 and other reports.

Any online reports (links) supporting that?
