Hi Chaldean

I recently removed the following sentence found on this page.

He carried on a series of campaigns against the Aramaeans in northern Mesopotamia, annexed a portion of Cilicia to the Assyrian empire, and established Assyrian colonies on the borders of Cappadocia.

I notice that you have restored this sentence. I seek to again remove this sentence on the grounds that the statments are unsupported by any reference or reliable source and that they are totally incorrect.

So unless you can provide any of the following information, it is time to again remove this sentence.

Name and give references to any inscription by Shalmaneser 1 (or by any of his successors) which make any such statment or give any proof about his supposed conquest of Arameans or Cilicia or placing colonies in Cappadocia.

Give any verfiable reference from a modern academic journal which would support such a claim.

Name any modern day reputable Assyriologist, in the field of ancient Assyrian studies, who would put his name to such a claim.

I apologize for the confusion. Go ahead and correct it. Chaldean (talk) 23:04, 22 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
