Nationality of Players

Given the fact that baseball is becoming an increasingly more international sport (i.e., more non-U.S. leagues in existence, more non-U.S. players in the MLB), the roster formatting on Wikipedia should probably be updated to reflect that. If you look at the formatting for other international sports (such as soccer), the player nationalities are indicated using flag icons. I think this would be a beneficial update to each of the major league rosters in the MLB, it would not be too difficult to implement and it would not clutter the information on the page. However, before such change a change is implemented, I thought it would be healthy to achieve at least some form of consensus on the talk page for each team. yuristache (talk) 01:10, July 24, 2010 (UTC)

ASG "nominees" section

I removed the "All-Star nominees" section for a few reasons:

• The title implies that the person was nominated for selection to the ASG, which I interpret to mean appeared on the ASG ballot. This has the potential to become an indiscriminate list because every year one player at each position (except pitcher) from each team appears on the ASG ballot.
• Notwithstanding the title, having a list of all of the team's actual All-Stars is also indiscriminate, at least in the context of this article, because of the rule that every team must have at least one All-Star.
• The "Awards" section should consist of special awards that the team or its players don't get every year. —KuyaBriBri^Talk 15:16, 2 February 2012 (UTC)

Meh. I went ahead and moved the awards section off the main article and onto it's own awards article. That seems to be the most common way of handling the awards section. --Bobblehead ^(rants) 18:47, 2 February 2012 (UTC)

Perhaps WP:INDISCRIMINATE was the wrong policy to cite. WP:UNDUE is more like it. Anyways, what I didn't say above but meant to is that I would support moving this info to a stand-alone list style article, and it looks like that's already been done. —KuyaBriBri^Talk 19:53, 2 February 2012 (UTC)

MOS issues February 2014

MOS tag rationale: Various sections in this article that do not comply with WP:MOS. Season records are presented incorrectly and features typos. falling tiles

How come there isn't a section about the falling roof tiles in 1994? The Mariners were always on the cusp of relocation and the falling tiles in the old Kingdome was almost the last straw. Ken Griffey Jr. and the M's saved baseball in 1995 and without that magical season, they could have been headed to Tampa Bay. The falling tiles was an old and crazy incident that happened with the Mariners at a tenuous time in their existence. Seabums47 (talk) 23:04, 18 February 2015 (UTC)
