The USA addition

edit

Maybe I'm not familiar with every wikipedia formatting rule, but I don't think "USA" needs to be added to "Seattle, Washington" ...is there another Seattle, Washington that you need to differentiate between? I don't think so. Leaving this up for a few days. --Hersch 21:36, 7 May 2005 (UTC)Reply

In this case, the addition is probably not needed. Seattle, Washington is a place well-known enough so that readers outside of USA can also understand very well what is meant. Solver 21:49, 7 May 2005 (UTC)Reply

Blenz

edit

"It has recently been learned that the 5 stores in British Columbia have been acquired by Blenz Coffee, the primary competitor to Starbucks in Western Canada."

Umm, Second Cup is the primary competitor to starbucks in Western Canada, Blenz is only in the lower mainland of bc it seems, hardly making it a competitor at all, let alone starbucks' primary. Quackgrassacrez 23:49, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

Position in market

edit

So if Starbucks owns Seattle's Finest, then I must ask where is it positioned in regard to Starbucks? Upmarket? Downmarket? Thanks. 203.171.193.129 12:49, 24 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

It's considered a downmarket. Appeals to the "everyday people." Many cafes are in grocery stores, etc. and not standalone stores, appealing to the people who need a "quick fix." It's basically competing with the "grab-and-go" coffee market of McDonald's or Dunkin Donuts, instead of encouraging people to sit and relax as Starbucks does. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.248.83.210 (talk) 19:34, 20 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Retail Locations

edit

Seattle's Best also has retail locations outside of North America, though I'm not sure how to determine where all of them are. I'm writing from the Philippines, and there are several throughout the Metro Manila area. 192.168.255.254 13:54, 15 Aug 2007 (UTC)

I would love to see a source about distribution of distributors but I have not seen one. Who has such a source? Please share. Blue Rasberry (talk) 03:11, 15 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

I as a former Vashon Island Roasterie employee can verify the accuracy of the SCC to Starbucks aquisition. AFC was rather flippant on revealing it's plans to sell. They were ultimatly forced to show thier hand in July 2003. The sale and closure of the facility was an economic blow to Vashon Island and an unfortunate circumstance. Seattle's Best Coffee was a fine brand with a well made product. The roastery employees were offered jobs at the Kent facility or severance. I took the severance. I never did get along with the Starbucks HR department. (Seattle Softies with backhanded-passive-agressive nature...but thats one mans opinion.) - Ric Mahurin, 2-13-09 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.113.94.118 (talk) 03:30, 14 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

3 out of 5 source links on the page are dead. Both from starbucks and one from adweek — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.0.126.55 (talk) 01:06, 16 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
