BRAC
editIn order for this templete to be displayed on this page we need to have some information pertaining to BRAC and this facility. Because their is no information on the page, I am moving the templete here until the information can be uploaded. For more information, click here. TomStar81 03:38, 28 August 2005 (UTC)
Merge?
editShould this article be merged with MidAmerica St. Louis Airport? The infoboxes are identical, and the FAA refers to them both as BLV. I'm not sure which name should be used, but Scott AFB came first and makes up most of the flights from the facility. CFB Bagotville as an example of a dual use airport article. --Dual Freq 18:48, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
An example of the potentially merged article is User:Dual Freq/BLV. --Dual Freq 22:45, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
- I'd make the infobox header Scott Air Force Base / MidAmerica St. Louis Airport instead of the other way around, and Military/Public or Military/Civilian instead of the other way around as Scott does far more of the traffic on the flightline than MA does. Otherwise, it seems pretty good at first glance. — pd_THOR | =/\= | 23:18, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
No objections have been posted here or Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Airports#Request for opinions on a Merger. If there are any objections, please make them soon, I plan to implement merger sometime this week unless there are any objections. See planned merger article: User:Dual Freq/BLV. --Dual Freq 20:33, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
Merged. --Dual Freq 03:36, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
Although no comments were posed, this was contested at the article level with reverted changes. Just for the record, no consensus (see article history) --Lineagegeek (talk) 18:17, 20 June 2013 (UTC)
FWIW
editI came across researching for Frank S. Scott, but this article could hold some useful info for this article: http://www.bnd.com/news/spiers/story/234417.html — pd_THOR | =/\= | 20:22, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
Primary Source
editThe "History of Scott AFB" which is the most cited source for the article is now a dead link,--Lineagegeek (talk) 18:17, 20 June 2013 (UTC)
- The link was http://public.scott.amc.af.mil/library/factsheets/factsheet.asp?id=260, and is indeed a dead link. The current version is now http://www.scott.af.mil/library/factsheets/factsheet.asp?id=260, however, it has been rewritten, and some of the information in the older version is no longer present in the new. The article on the base's namesake, Frank S. Scott contains a wayback link to what is probably the version used, http://web.archive.org/web/20070815044833/http://public.scott.amc.af.mil/library/factsheets/factsheet.asp?id=260.
