editContrary to the wishes of the IP editor who has twice now changed the name of the theatre to "Schine's Auburn Theatre", I have thoroughly researched the question, and that is not correct. The Auburn Theatre was one of three theatres in Auburn owned by the Schines Theatre chair -- Schines Theatre, with no apostrophe. That was what the Schine brothers called their company, and that's why the theatre is Schines Auburn Theatre and not "Schine's". Those in doubt should read the history of the organization found here.
I have no doubt that it's probable that people in Auburn assumed it was "Schine's" and thought of it that way, but the colloquial usage is not only unsourced, it cannot trump sourced history. Beyond My Ken (talk) 04:22, 14 September 2012 (UTC)
